Nor will the complaints end. Double the quest log amount, and you’ll be back complaining that it’s still not enough.
Poor management isnt a reason to have Blizzard cater to someone(s).
Again, no one is actively working on the max amount of quests. You cant even collect the max amount in an area without completing prior quests.
So to leave an area to go work on another quest means youre not “actively” working on those quests any more
I could make the same argument that i can only do one thing at a time therefore we should only be allowed 1 quest at a time. If youve got a full quest log, it means youre not doing quests anyway, so this change shouldnt affect your gameplay right?
Then make one. You can have an infinite quest log in a text document on your desktop. Most quests are done in the same general area as the quest giver. So Jot down where to pick up that interesting quest so you can get back to it “tomorrow” (or 6 months from now when you actually get around to it). And THAT’S the problem. If you actually went and did those quests “tomorrow” then your log wouldn’t be full.
so now I have to use outside tools to play the game the way I want to play it? You realize how ridiculous that sounds, compared to “making the quest log allow more quests” right?
But hey, I love when everyone tells me how I should play the game. Thanks for the pro tip, scooter.
Hey, Scruffles, let me know, are addons a tool that’s used OUTSIDE of the game? Just curious.
Ironically, your second comment is easily managed by an addon. Kaliel’s Tracker.
And it’s really funny that you feel that resource time devoted to you better managing your quest efficiency is worth it, yet when others want their time better managed for quest efficiency a different way, it’s not necessary. Or that we should use … lol… notepad to better track our in-game quests.
And honestly, I hadn’t even gotten back to this, but no, most BIG quests are NOT done anywhere near the quest giver. No one’s getting stuck on the “go fetch five cuddly squirrels” quests filling up their log, skippo, it’s these big long chains that take 35 steps and go across continents, and sometimes to other parts of the world (or other worlds) that can’t just easily be abandoned mid-chain.
The stuff that they’ve more recently made ‘extra’ and pushed to the top of the quest log and in most cases push outside of the log capacity, because of their relevance and complexity. Unfortunately Blizz didn’t go back and apply this logic to old expansions, so when we are on step 23 of 37 it’s just a regular old ordinary quest in the log.
But hey, keep suggesting they make it easier for you to find your 15 pebbles on the ground. Even though an addon developer has solved this quandary already.
I’m sure your long and well thought out post was great. But that’s the second time you started your reply with a veiled insult. Therefore I stopped reading at that point. So, I’ll just move on with my life cause people like you aren’t worth the time and effort to press the keys on the keyboard. Maybe try to be less of a jerk and you might find an intelligent conversation.
When I was on DF Beta I remember thinking right of…wow…they arent bombarding me with quests.
That lasted less than a day, lmao.
Difference on beta was, I didnt already have 25 quests or more from old content I was going between while trying to do current content quests.
This is honestly the big issue. Give us an extra allotment of quests for old expansions. Separate the two if need be, 35 for new (hell even 25 for new is fine) and then 25-50 for the old stuff. Put it in a separate log even, doesn’t bother me.
But don’t entice the fomo and encourage it (hey kids, transmogs all from one character! in TWW!) if you aren’t going to then support the process. Obscurity to increase play time is a horrid way to think. Just leads to frustration, which is the cancer of subscription gaming.
yeah?
As ive said 1000 times in here, Ive never met or even seen Obama…by your logic the man doesnt exist BECAUSE Ive never personally met him lol.
I believe the witnesses and video however…just like I know not every gamer has MY experiences.
How about you?
you willing to stop talking on a topic you just literally admitted has no bearing on your own game and let those whom DO have a dog in this race talk about it instead?
Or, like a couple trolls above, are you just here for attention?
funnily enough its probably “current content only” sorts who troll this topic with “NOT ME” every time it comes up.
If I were ONLY running CURRENT content then yeah, I have more than enough quest slots.
Since Im not, I often dont.
REALLY cant figure out whats so complicated about that concept that a few sorts above who cant seem to get the picture. lol.
I use the shift/click to untrack anything Im not currently working on.
it would be very cool if it was like those world quests or whatever where whatever quests your near, thats what shows up in your on screen list.
wonder if there is an addon for that sort of thing?
at what point have you done that?
your overall quest completion isn’t even at 50%
…which brings us to the question of… how many people who are flipping out about this being a terrible idea, are actually questers, or have any idea of how many quests are in the game, and how many of those can’t just be completed on the spot in that moment.
Yeah, I mentioned it once already, Kaliel’s Tracker, it’s fantastic. Scrolling box, quests can only appear if you are near, color coded, quest count, etc.
$100 says end gamers who only quest in current content, dont spend much time running for quest mogs in old content, have WAY too much time on their hands to whine about crap that has no bearing whatsoever on their game…ie looking for attention in our responses, is my guess
