Your opinion on cross realm bgs?

Unless you rewind back time to 2004 it will certainly matter, 15 years is a long time buddy time change

Has Blizzard not said this is a recreation project, NOT an attempt to “fix” vanilla? Would that not also indicate that this us NOT an attempt to modernize Classic?

But they are fixing it , as in bug, sharding , crz and such

Your reference on modernize?? because i can tell you playing on my 2k monitor with brodband is a great step over my CRT with dial-up back in the day :rofl:
Good luck stopping the future generation from changing the experience

I use the term “Modernize” in reference him trying to appeal and cater to the retail, convenience oriented, instant (figure of speech, not literally “instant”) gratification mindset.

Against it, bgs were different without it and it helps promotes faction balance on servers.
Punishes those who don’t care about faction balance who hop on dominant factions that become so huge that you can’t fight back.

We need less modern, pvp realms should be the exception if they are going to do it regardless.

That said, it did happen in Vanilla. Maybe it can be added in the final content patch (or a 7th one), so that after all the excitement dies down and servers start to fade, the cross realms BGs can continue.

You articulated your point well. Alot of people are certainly really wanting the community to be an integral part of the pvp aspect of the game. That’s not a big selling point for me personally, but I get it. Where do you draw the line though if a server is dying or has a 90/10% faction ration and que times skyrocket and/or world pvp becomes non existent?

Address the population issues before they cause a server death, and /or force transfer everyone off of terminal /dying realms and then delete the failed empty server.

Has blizzard done that in the past? Wasnt cross realm their answer?

Cross realm was introduced in anticipation of forthcoming tbc pvp changes that added a 4th bg and 3 arena brackets to the mix, all of which would f further divide a playerbase more than one server could handle reliably.

You probably got Xrealm bgs in late vanilla simply because it was the only time they could be reliably tested and turned on /off without significant impact.

For now, no. As long as they release new servers only when they must.
There shouldnt be a low populated problem. Lets allow rivalries to
form the way they use to. By always seeing the same people on the other
side. Once players start dropping off down the road, and the queues start
slowing way down. Then maybe consider cross realm queues.

I hate cross realm battlegrounds. If your server is too polsided to one faction that you have a long queue time reroll someplace where the times are shorter. If you care about pvp that much you will want to reroll someplace that is better for you.

Won’t happen…

Part of what made Vanilla PvP special is the fact you knew your fellow PvP’ers. And you played with the same people all the time. You knew how each of them played. You worked together as a TEAM. Because you knew each other.

CRBG’s were a part of vanilla.

So if someone has 60+ days played or even 100+ days played and the server is dying down, you want them to reroll?

I feel the same way about them for Classic as I did when they were announced for Vanilla: if they’re absolutely necessary, fine. I think that realm-only BG systems should be preserved for as long as they possibly can be without intervention from Blizzard.

The cynic in me has been around this community long enough to know that you guys are going to screw up realm balance and realm population at some point along the way in your manic quest to get an edge over everyone else…just like you did in Vanilla…and CRBGs will once again become a thing.

I like this post. You must have just had a good nap and woke up refreshed with mental clarity. Good post A+

For a very short time.

We will have to wait to see how far Blizzard’s statement regarding no cross realm will extend.

I am hoping that it extends to BG’s.

Given the choice between rerolling or the game cancer of CRBG’s I would choose reroll every time.

Then again, as I said, I am favor community over convenience.

Unlike some posters, I don’t simply choose the most convenient option and blindly support that option.

Some people spoke about this a little bit on Twitch yesterday. Some people who rank and play the game for 16-20 hours a day. They play 16-20 hours a day and queue for WSG and AB. That’s what they enjoy doing in WoW.

How do you beat a group of 15 players who plays 16-20 hours a day? While you are at work. They’re playing. While you’re out, they’re playing. And when you finally come home. They destroy you.

They do this over and over again.

This has happened on private servers, says so on a few of the posts for Classic reddit.

These players make their faction the dominate faction because they play the game obsessively. So when you play for three hours a night after work and queue for a BG, you get stomped by them. You get stomped every game for three hours, because they are your only competition. Then you log off and you do it again and again.

Is that enjoyable to you? We’ve seen to some people it isn’t enjoyable. So they stop queueing. When they stop queueing, these no-life rankers don’t have BGs to satisfy them. What do they do next? They go hunting for honor. They gank flight paths. They make sure that they get their honor.

Is that what you want? To face the same premade of no-lifers every game? You’ll know them sure. But you won’t beat them. While you’re at work, they’re either in BGs, farming honor in the world, or they’re preparing. They’re getting consumables and engineering items. They’re preparing for every possible advantage over you. So when you return for your three hours of BGs, you will lose.

Then you start queue dodging the premade to try and find some pugs. What is the state of community when you’re actively avoiding the people you claimed you wanted to fight?

I hope when Classic hits and if we don’t have Cross-Realm BGs you never find yourself on a low population server on the wrong faction. You can’t quest. You can’t farm. You can’t call for help. Because for every 20 Horde players in Eastern Plaguelands, there is only one alliance player.

Then you will find yourself with high queue times and very little options besides server transfers.
