I did not say at stage 6. I specifically said the last four months of classic.
After all, CRBG’s were only in vanilla for four months. Having them in Classic for more than four months would not be authentic, right?
I think now you’re just getting a bit too silly with your arguments. But sure, if we’re going to super authentic then Classic should only last two years right? That’s how long Vanilla lasted.
Do you want 1.12 AV or an earlier version?
Do you want CRBG’s? Have you not argued for CRBG’s and against singlevrralm BG’s in almost, every post you made in this thread? Have you not been hiding behind claims of “authenticity”?
Do you want players to have to travel to the BG portal to queue or do you want battlemasters?
I played during patch 1.12 when it was current content. Since Blizzard said they’re using patch 1.12, I’d like it to be exactly the same. (Hiding behind claims of authentic, because patch 1.12 had cross-realm BGs, I was there for it lol. So yeah it’s authentic.)
Don’t think that’s too out of the question.
I’m fine with them trying to replicate earlier versions by time gating stuff. That makes sense. But when it’s phase 6, I’d like it to be the same as it was in patch 1.12, since during phase 6 they’re trying to replicate the later stages of Vanilla.
Also phase 6 may be years down the line.
That idea is not bad.
I do feel that 10 minutes is far too little time, though.
IMO, that single realm time should be a minimum of 30 minutes.
I get that… just wanted the initial to be same-realm, then X-realm if it becomes a chore top wait.
Given the latest Blue post it really seems they’re determined to just recreate a 1.12 version ultimately. So it is what it is. I expect cross-realm bgs.
Dodging the third question.
We already know that you want the most convenient version of AV and the convenience of CRBG’s.
Do you also want the more convenient battlemasters?
Hide behind “authenticity” all you want, but we can see right through that.
Am I mistaken, or do you not also want sharding and the convenience of reduced competition that sharding provides. Sharding was NEVER part of vanilla, even in 1.12. So much for your claims of only wanting “authenticity”.
Not worth it if it doesn’t last forever.
It’s a double edged sword.
Without cross-realm, you have 1 hour queue times.
With cross-realm, you have people crying about MUH COMMUNITY.
You don’t need to make unwarranted strawman arguments like 1 hour queue times. The devs are recreating 1.12. There will be cross-realm bgs. I believe that is now a foregone conclusion.
…Please look up what “strawman” means, because my post did not contain that at all.
I don’t know if these points have been covered already. I apologize if they have.
I played from launch until a short while into tbc. Then I quit and never looked back until I heard about private vanilla servers.
I watched as blizzard(recently merged with activision) began to methodically dismantle the game I enjoyed. They started nerfing vanilla content by down grading early elites to regular mobs, and refused to fix quests that became buggy with new patches. Wow was no longer challenging, and the story was disappearing.
Their focus switched from creating quality, to attracting the masses.
Prior to this I really enjoyed BGs. I remember having to wait hours in queue. The introduction of battlegroups was a good solution. My queues would pop almost instantly and I could spend my free time actually doing pvp.
Because of the limited number of servers in my battlegroup, I got to know new players that I developed new rivalries with. There was more excitement and variation in the sessions rather than replaying the same few teams with roughly the same outcomes everytime.
I have even less free time now and don’t plan to spend it sitting in queue.
I also remember afkers getting auto booted from bgs by the server. Has anyone else brought this up? Does it not work that way in retail?
I support cross realm bgs in limited battlegroups, but not wow classic wide (is that what retail has become?)
From my point of view, blizzard’s dumbing down of wow attracted the current retail players and drove away the classic oriented crowd. I guess that’s just a chicken and the egg debate.
Mogar. . Oh Mogar… I know you are down because you lost that part of your argument. And I am sorry man. We where only trying to give you the perspective.
But man. We can’t come out and say there WILL be cross-realm just yet. That has not been delt with. So. you can still have hope man.
It’s ok to lose a battle. Man… I lost the flipping mail time limit battle and that sucks!! But in the end, its ok. We GET TO PLAY!!!
That was thoughtful and very well put.
In favor.
I’d rather have a short queue time in BG’s with a small sub set of regional servers than have total dead times that I can’t do BG’s at.
Also, it makes the lower level brackets not a ghost town and enables proper twink v twink premades.
I don’t think players here understand queue time well because its based on ratio not on numbers or total population
For example : If you want to do Alterac valley you need Horde AND Alliance. So having a pvp server filled with only horde even if it is high pop, well guess what you don’t have enough alliance to keep your queues moving at a good pace resulting in increased queue time. So having high pop server means nothing. So if you don;t have a 50- 50 population or very near to , your server will need crz to compensate .
Ppl would rather play the game than wait to play the game while staying afk and missing the pop at the 30 min mark only to nerd rage after that
And also this isn’t 2004 this is 2019 remember that very clearly. SO don’t bring your past experiences and say it will hold true today as well. This is the era of the mobile generation crowd they don’t climb up-ways or down-ways in the snow they use a snow-mobile instead
I’m generally against cross-server anything.
However, in this case, the tears from those on this forum that like to harass and stalk me would be glorious to see with some popcorn, so I would like to see cross-realm BGs implemented in Classic.
Is that really the mindset to which Classic should strive to cater?
IMO, it most definitely is NOT.
