You’re saying people queue up and don’t try to win?
Even if they’re bad players, they still try to win.

Personally I would push things farther than just no CRBGs. I would also chose the point in time in Vanilla where there were no Battlemasters. You actually had to travel to the battleground if you wanted to fight in it. It was fun, even when you sat in queue your were geographically near the other faction and ganking was rampant. Everyone was on guard. And it contributed to the real-world feel.
That no Battlemasters phase existed for like a month.
Thankfully Blizzard said they’re trying not mess with the 1.12 data.
Here is a video where Ion even says they want to actively not mess with the 1.12 data. Removing Cross-Realm BGs is in fact… messing with the 1.12 data. And yes, sharding and other things are messing with the 1.12 data. But because of that should we continue to further mess with the data?
You guys want to mess with the 1.12 data. You’re advocating changes. Your argument of removing cross-realm BGs is just as valid as someone saying they want 1.3 talent trees. Or someone saying they want the rogue to perform as they did in early, early vanilla. Or someone saying they want paladins to have 1.9 talents.
How far down the rabbit hole are we going to go? Please quit messing with the 1.12 data.
If you believe this, you are delusional. Since CRBG, many people queue only for the points. If a game isn’t going well they quickly give up and cry for the team to stop fighting so the game will end as fast as possible. They then requeue and pollute the next match the land in.
On the flip side you need to step back and acknowledge that
a) queue times are not the end all be all of the game. You need to chill out and look at the whole picture/others and not just for yourself
b) crbgs were a bandaid on a symptom of imbalanced and low pop realms. That imbalance should be thwarted at the very beginning before symptoms like long queues occur.
c) CRBGs may not be needed, you have no idea if the bandaid on the symptom will be needed in classic
No, I am convinced by this point of the thread that you are just trolling. That post right there solidifies it.
Yup, solid troll. Not a good troll, kind of hamfisted and Curt-like. But troll all the same.
Maybe even scented with a little whiskee/saqe.
Broken… I’m going for authentic.
WARTS and all. Because as soon as you change something. You’ve opened up the flood gates.
Also was Brokenwind your main character for Vanilla?
No, it wasn’t. Thermalaise was. But feel free to flail and deflect in that direction if you want.
Anything within the boundary of vanilla is open to discussion under “no changes”. Try again. We fought over 10 years for vanilla. not strictly patch 1.12
Oh, I was just curious. Also, I stated previously. Cross-Realms don’t need to be added from the start. But it would be disingenuous to not have them considering they were the main feature of patch 1.12.
That’s like not adding Naxx because it’s too large of a gear gap between Naxx and a majority of the content.

Ok… but we’re going for an authentic recreation. So Cross-Realm BGs are authentic and should be included at the end at least, should they not?
Feel free to make a case for not having Naxx. This subject is crbgs, the bandaid on a symptom that blizzard allowed to get out of hand via inaction.
You cannot have a complete authentic representation of Classic WoW without Cross-Realm BGs somewhere down the line.
Phase 6 should include it. It is at the end of Classic and will be similar to cross-realm BGs coming at the end of vanilla.
Wouldn’t that make sense?
1.12 as the foundation. The box of legos that has the most parts (not all pieces need be used)
I don’t think foundation means what you think it means.
“an underlying base or support” - websters.
So 1.12 is the base of what Classic is built on. Cross-Realm BGs are included in that.
I think you’re confused on how game servers work. The 1.12 data, means functions within the database. CRBG is more of a handling issue, that would be managed by a seperate set of applications/scripts utilized for server management. Things are a bit different now, as servers are more like virtual servers than seperate hardware for each, primarily due to the advancement of technology.
Technically crbg is not part of “the data” it’s part of the server software as a set of scripts, or a completely seperate application that manages movement of client connections.
The “data” concerns all the true/false stuff, items, ability functions, quests, local entities, AI calls, etc…etc…
So you are a developer now?
Well put. I would prefer we don’t cross realms for players in BGs.
Are we now just using the word “toxic” as a replacement for whatever word one wishes to exchange it for?
No…that’s what Blizzard said. They wanted an authentic experience and are using 1.12. So that would mean… authentic 1.12 experience…
That’s why we’re getting 1.12 AV. 1.12 talents. 1.12 quests most likely.
Again…I’m not saying having cross-realms in from the start. I’m saying have them in eventually since… it’s what happened in actual Vanilla.
If auto-join raid are in, MoHs are in and CRBGs are in? People very much do queue and then afk soak up honor.
Didn’t they have the report afk? Or did that come later on? I honestly can’t remember.
