Can you please revert that needless change that you just put in for no reason whatsoever that now causes me to no longer be able to move anything off of my action bars. I cannot. But I was bale to right before you screwed up yet again and now I legit cannot move anything off of my action bars. I was able to do it before that patch that happened today. Feels at this point that it is intentional by current dev team to sabotage our gameplay to make things less enjoyable. Why? Zero reason for that.
Why did you do that. Tell me how to fix it. Not going to look up how. You’ll just screw it up again and I will have wasted my time trying to figure out how to fix something that you broke. Was working fine for years. Now it no longer works… And done just minutes ago on your ninja Friday patch. So… Please fix my toon. Now cannot move anything off or onto my action bars. Still not level cap and there is a spell that I am about to get… only problem is… I can now no longer drag anything on or off my action bars after this odd patch. Oh yea. You’ll blame my addons again… that’s why I quit using them because Blizz always likes to say it is the addons doing this. No addons active. Your dev team just did this. Now nothing is going on or off my action bars anymore at all.
How ever, if there is a change within a recent patch to the game, you’ll need to provide feedback it in a more appropriate location, such as In-Game Tool or General Discussion Forums (Classic General Discussions for Classic). Customer Support has no involvement with the development of the game, and nor is liaisons for the development either.

This is the “Lock Action Bars” setting in the menu. You can even change the key you use to “unstick” the icon when locked. All you need to do is unclick the box, so your action bars are not locked.
You not understanding the game settings is not a Blizzard issue. That’s a PEBKAC issue.
Yes, it would seem the best thing to do is rage and yell and scream and throw a tantrum. Instead of actually finding out it’s a two-second mouseclick.
If there isn’t any reason that you can see, and there isn’t anything in the patch notes that indicate that the ability to move abilities off of the action bars was removed, perhaps, what you are experiencing isn’t intended?
Testing this myself, I can freely move abilities around on my action bars, so it is likely either a setting or an issue with an addon.
As Melaesia mentioned, make sure you check your UI options to see if you have the “Lock Action Bar” checked. If you do, you can either disable it, or use whatever key you have assigned to then click and drag abilities around your action bars.
Otherwise, I would recommend a full UI reset that Ayukama linked.
It sounds like you locked action bars in options, there was no change to this behavior. I think default is to hold shift to move your actions is to hold shift. Again, if it is locked, it’s in the options for you to be able to change.
It worked for years up until this point. As soon as this Friday patch happened it now no longer does.
Now this seems 100% right. ^ After checking other toons. Because of it was intended it would be in notes and would be not only on my hunter. But still will not fix as of yet.
Only my hunter is having this problem. Which is the toon I was playing, The other toons of mine seem fine. This will likely get fixed later.
There’s nothing to fix. There’s nothing wrong with the game. The problem is on your end, with your UI. Either created by settings or the UI being corrupted by an outdated addon.
On 28 characters (including hunters) I’m not having any issues.
I just said… I don’t use any addons. Reason why I do not as I stated was because comments like yours always come up.
There actually is. it is no longer working and was working for years. it happened after the patch. It only effects one single toon of mine and it is only the one I was playing right before patch logged me out.
Why did you even post here if you had nothing useful to add. Just seems like your only intent was to try and dispute what I said. Green and Blue already helped and I marked it as solved. Blue said it was not intentional. That means it is a bug and will be fixed soon enough and it only effects one single toon, Trust me I did not log in while they were doing the patch and change my UI.
There haven’t been any patches that had anything to do with the UI recently. Addons can cause corruption but they are not the only cause of a corrupted UI. You need to do a UI reset. You can try just deleting the cache folder first, and then Interface/WTF if that fails.
The problem is on your end. You can either do some basic troubleshooting to resolve it, or not. But that’s your answer.
I back up my UI on a regular basis so I’m familiar with where issues may arise. The OP’s issue MAY just be corrupted cache, in which case nuking the cache folder will fix it.
If not then it’s something in interface or WTF which requires a bit more work to fix. You can actually rename those folders instead of deleting them to test, then rename them back if that turns out to not be the problem.
The cache folder can always just be deleted, no reason to back that up. My spidey sense is telling me there is like a 75% chance the OP’s problem is corrupt cache. I actually had that happen to me recently (different issue) that required a cache reset.
If something is only effecting one of your characters, not even all of them, and essentially nobody else, the issue is almost definitely related to your UI. There simply is going to be no way for Blizzard to even investigate this. If this was an issue with the Blizzard client, it would impact multiple people, and it would likely impact all your characters.
As of now, your best option is to make sure you don’t have the option to lock the action bar set. Personally I use this since I hate it when I accidentally move abilities. You can try holding Shift or Control down to see if the abilities move, thats also a sign that this option is checked. By the way, I think you might be able to hotkey this on/off.
There are several settings you will want to look at. The easiest way to see all the action bar settings, is to go into Options, and then Search on Action.
Look for the following
Under the Action Bar section - Lock Action Bars (this is likely checked)
Under Keybindings section - Toggle Action Bar Lock (if you have a key bound to this, you might want to remove it, as you don’t accidentally want to lock them again)
If this doesn’t work, then you will need to reset your UI with the directions provided by others above.
That is NOT what Vrak said, he said that there was not intentional change in a patch to make it so you can’t move stuff around on the action bar. That doesn’t mean that it is a bug, they were saying that this wasn’t changed in the patch. In fact they said very clearly that it is likely an issue with a setting or an addon (your UI which can become corrupt even without addons it is advised to do a full UI reset every so often).

If it’s affecting one toons and not others, and it’s not affecting any other player, then it’s not a bug. It’s a problem with your settings or UI on that character.

Having 0 addons does not mean the UI is not corrupted. Having “similar” settings is not the “same”. And even if setting are 100% exactly the same, there are many other factors that can affect it.
No, you aren’t reading, and you aren’t answering questions. As we have said, you can change this button. But you likely have “Lock Action Bars” checked, and would want to uncheck that option.

Come on, man. YOU’RE the one who keeps dismissing UI issues because you say “I run 0 addons”. We get it, we hear it, we know. Now, you need to read and understand this:
How many addons you run, from zero to a million, is irrelevant. UI issues can (and often DO) happen while running the default UI with zero add-ons. The UI (User Interface) is more than just the add-ons you run.
Then, what’s the issue? What else do you need help with? If it’s solved, then enjoy your gaming.
