So the authenticator app was moved to the Bnet app and now it never loads.
Got a brand new phone, attempted to relink my authenticator and it just sits on loading request, great app Blizzard.

I have had no problem using the old one. But if it is broke as a lot of people say, when you have to use the Bnet app, ill quit the dang game before i get worked up over their incompetence!
100% truth!
sounds like you’re using it incorrectly. it works great for me!
People need to stop saying “I don’t have a problem so there is no problem”. Just because it works for you does not mean there isn’t a problem. Google it and you will see there are other people having the same issue.
On top of the garbage of trying to re-enable my authenticator, I’ve found there is also no way to get an old code like there used to be, there is no way to manually type in a code because one does not exist on the new app.
Check to see you have the latest version of the app. If you just copied the apps over from your old phone then they may not be at the latest version.
Also you may get better help in the tech support forum rather than here.
Good luck.
Sorry to hear your having an issue, I found it to work really easy to migrate to the new way to use the authenticator and its worked like a charm. I hope you can get it fixed and working for you.
You were able to login to the forums to whine about a bunch of things tonight. Seems to be working too well if you ask me.
The funny part, it tells you to download the new bnet app, but still required me to give the Okay on the authenticator app before either the website or the bnet app would go through.
Check the CS forums and all of the authenticator threads. There’s links to articles there to fix your issues.
Found this thread that may help you. Hopefully it will help solve the issue you’re having with the app.
i still have the WoW Armory app on my phone, despite it being depreciated for 7 years
Sounds like your connection is bad, that wouldn’t be a blizzard problem.
I just wish they sold the physical authenticators still. I still have my og one from 13 years ago, but the batteries are near dead. I upgraded to the app just incase. I don’t want to be perma locked out due to a dead battery.
Was it easy to switch from the physical fob? Mine is almost dead as well ?
Protip: you don’t have to use your authenticator every time you log into the forums. Specially if you’re logging in from a trust source.
Hey, but all the RMT adds are gone now.
Always said, using “Security” as way to push mobile market penetration is going to bite them in the butt.
When anyone gets that itch two, three, five years later, to give WoW another try, if unlocking their account is tied to a phone app on a phone long since stolen/lost/upgraded, the process that makes it secure will be the process that gets in the way of them ever coming back.
However, email verification was pretty straight forward for me.
They need to stop antagonizing customers that don’t want another piece of corporate software on a personal device that follows them around everywhere and knows every little detail of their life.
Can Blizzard stop Balarina from incorrectly using the authenticator?
OK MR. Iknowbetterthanyou, why don’t YOU help me than.
So what now guru?
It was fairly easy. I’ve never used the bnet app before (like not even for pming friends) so it just took me a minute to figure it out.
But yea. It’s super easy to use. You open it on your phone and any time you log into bnet, it will ping your phone and you hit accept. Done.
i’m an unmarried woman, so i’m Ms. Iknowbetterthanyou.
I still have my physical SC2 authenticator, still works too
