Yeah but if you can swap them every 5 minutes, people are going to get declined for having the non-meta one anyway. That also means there’s more pressure to ‘balance’ them which means making them all the same boring weak stuff. You guys don’t care because you are the cancer this type of thing is trying, and failing, to purge. Of course this won’t work because it’s Blizzard doing it. I know it’s not going to fix you or the community but you guys are gonna take this hit and I’m glad for that.
If you can’t swap them it’s going to put more pressure on blizzard to balance them because people living in the clouds think they’ll be able to balance them within 2% LOL
And we all know how blizzard balance things.
It doesn’t need to be within 2%. Beam and BotD are well within 10-15% of each other (BotD is vastly better) but people run Beam (and other Majors) anyways in high keys because it is easier to use.
Thinking all that matters is %'s isn’t the right way to think about game design.
and the aqueducts.
but seriously - talents - i cant have a druids talent on my hunter --the choice came with the class , covenants are like class choices not talent choices.
Azarite - i cant have things that are not on the piece of gear i have
specs - see talents and also i cant have an ability thats in SV on my BM
Essences - I cant have any I havent already earned
Being able to pick four of anything instead of one is the definition of accessibility, which, by the stale breath of the ‘good’ players, makes the game easier.
Not sure what your point is here, it’s stupid though.
Yeah whoa almost like it’s a design problem huh?
??? Stupid point being reused.
Another design issue.
Heard it here first guys, accessibility is a bad thing!
You can’t have it both ways. Making the choices more accessible makes it easier on the player, regardless of who that player is.
Making choice where there were none also allows room for more mistakes.
Blizzard are going to balance around everyone having the strongest covenant much like they balanced mythic nzoth around everyone having BIS corruptions.
What’s your point?
My point is that those who are ‘the best’ shouldn’t need so many training wheels.
I’m fascinated with your ability to respond with a post without reading it. Truly fascinating.
So the way around this is to join a decent guild who bring the player not the covenant choice.
To quote the same article:
“Part of the balance, however, is making sure that they give you the tuning knobs required to make sure that you can shore up on some of your weaknesses.”
and
“If there are situations where people are excluded from content due to their choice, this is where they want to make changes.”
I think it’s naieve to think they are not aware of the potential issues. Will they provide absolutely perfect fixes? Who knows. I hope so. To quote that clever fella Albert Einstein “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. I can only hope they understand that implementing systems that don’t work repeatedly in the hope they will work this time would not be a good look.
I read it, yet am amazed that ‘the best’ players are so terrified of a single decision that they’re brow beating developers to change it.
Cool. You mean like Court of Stars? Sounds pretty awesome.
Good. We shouldn’t excel at everything. Every class/spec/choice should excel at some things and not excel at others.
Meaningful choice is, well… you know, meaningful.
You’re pretty tone deaf if you think people are scared by it, I’ve already got my alts ready
Of course not! We’ve only been doing it for 15 years right!
More restrictions!
Thought I made it pretty clear I’m voicing my concerns for the people who will suffer, which is the casuals. Not me.
Because in 15 years you could always play whatever class or spec you wanted for any content? loool
There are always been meaningful choices in this game, this is just another one with extra RPG flavor.
Always such as:
Scryer and Aldor
and MANY MORE!
Everyone picked Scryer anyway because it was stronger.
Except we know that’s a lie.
I can’t wait to necrobump this thread with
I told you so
I don’t think you realise I’d love to be proven wrong. But i won’t be.
