That’s pretty presumptuous. What else do you see in your crystal ball? I need lotto numbers.
Oh look the actual toxic elitist that thinks everybody should play like him because is Blizz overlord told him that is how you play
Never heard of him to be honest…probably rarely posts on the forums.
I was using a Generic argument to that PVE player, that they could understand, not stating that the highest damage Covenant will be the best for PVP play.
Thats actually the issue I take with it the most, it most likely wont be. Venthyr is the must for M+, as of right now, none of my classes want Venthyr for PVP. As you have said, and I am sorry I misunderstood your point, as its not in line with what I was trying to say.
So the situation will be, his DH is going to need to be say Kyiran (I havent looked lately) for the Util it brings to PVP. If its not, he is suboptimal and I wont take him. If he is, then he will do less damage and not be taken to M+.
This issue is further compacted by their choice to keep PVP like BFA, where the best gear still comes from PVE, where PVPers will be denied to M+ to get gear, or they will be Denied from Arena to use the gear, and this is a serious problem. That is kind of what I was trying to touch on to him, the importance to covenants at all, not the differences of PVP choice vs PVE choice, but your right they will not line up at all.
You do know that people are just asking for the CLASS ABILITIES to be untied from the covenants and made into talents for our talent tree. Most don’t have a problem with the signature abilities , soul binds and conduits staying with the covenants.
I thought the same thing but to be honest after checking both toons the account wide cheevos din’t match up.
I do think Ralph has been posting on an alt though. I think it is the classic undead mage that keeps making threads lately that are similar to Ralph’s
Incorrect. It all needs to be untied or Mirrored with Flair.
All Cov’s should have their own themed Door of Shadows, all Covenants should have the same Conduits just with different flavor, and looks to the ability’s.
As a Multi Facet Player, who PVPs, does M+, and Raids, I will be locked out of 2 of those whatever choice I pick, the lack of gear from the other 2, will have me performing worse in the 1 I chose. Thats a terrible system.
The debate is so gray now that no one knows what they are arguing anymore lol. Most players want to commit to a faction but don’t think player power, like the abilities you are talking about, should be tied to said faction.
People are starting to confuse this debate between players stating they want to go to any Covenant any second they want, and having the power taken away from said Covenants.
Yep I play shadow priest and wind walker monk, long story short I never get invited to pugs no matter the key level. Unless I have my own key or running with guildies I can never do mythic +
I think that every covenant should’ve had the same ability and perhaps each one should’ve had a different cosmetic effect so that there were no clear “better” choices
The arguement has always been the same. They should not be tied to factions.
However, if they must be, then the grayness comes in with compromises the community has suggested.
- Allow us to change them at will.
- Remove them completely.
- Mirror the actual ability with a different thematic skin.
All 3 of these, fix the same issue.
Nope.
They add this awful system for arbitrary reasons, we’re gonna fight it until it’s made good with arbitrary means.
Caving to toxic min-max slaves is the opposite of good.
I am a multi facet player too maybe not at your level because I don’t mythic + .
I think the signature abilities are going to be less of a factor then the class ones.
I know Door of Shadows is ultra cool but I see it getting an early nerf if not by launch then soon after. I believe there is time for soul binds to be adjusted for each covenant that each one would affect each class ability differently.
Opening the class abilities alone gives people that do different facets of the game opportunity to try different builds for each .
Door of shadows wont be nerfed, and if it is, it will be after everyone has picked it, and then has to start a new of the same Character.
They do it all the time. They nerfed gushing, AFTER its time on the corruption cycle, same with TD, IS, ect. After you spend all your Echos they will nerf it to be worthless.
They are doing it on purpose, if you blow your wad on Corruption they nerf it, you need a new one, time to grind more echos so more Time Played.
People are free to invite and decline whoever they want in SL just like they are now.
You do know it is more then 1% doing all the content the game has to offer.
Lot of casuals raid , do some level of myrthic and mythic + as well as pvp. Maybe even casuals doing that then those that play for rp. If you just based the percentage of players that rp based just off the number of rp realms alone in N/A it would be only 10% rp.
Naaaaah, the covenants grant you the power of your spec-specific ability, so still, it wouldn’t make sense. We wouldn’t have those powers and no medium to obtain them without the covenants, our only potential allies in the Shadowlands.
Ok but I do different things on this toon . Raid, dungeons, pvp ect.
One ability may be good for one aspect of the game and not for another. I should be able to choose which class ability works best for the content I am doing at any time and not be made to make multiple toons of the same class/spec for each form of content. I f I make multiple toons of the same class/spec it should be because hopefully by the end of SL all the covenant armors will open up for general transmog and I can use the extra toons to get those items.
… Just switch your covenant? You can do that freely at any time, even rejoin your old covenant.
The way Renown is presented seems like it pushes players to progress in different covenants too, cosmetics are locked behind each individual Covenant renown.
He’s not worried enough about his job to open flying up outside of Pathfinder. It’s pretty obvious that he’s ok dying on the hill of making people play his way rather than designing for broad appeal that would be more likely to keep or increase subs
