Make your own group.
That’s okay. I’ve played a Shadow Priest since Legion so I’m used to not being able to get into any PUGs.
Glad to see the people I should avoid in-game. OP included.
You know, one thing I’ve been wondering: how big a difference does everyone actually think Covenant choice will make on overall player power?
Because I just can’t see covenants bringing more than 20% of our total power, which means that even a 20% power gap between the covenants would only be a 4% gap (because 20% of that 20%).
I could be wrong, but I can’t see Blizzard letting some passives and one throughput active make up that much of our power.
you should watch that video i posted to get idea of the player power from one corruption right now
As far as I know, some covenants are actually dps loss for certain spec. So think about that.
There will be a difference, I’d say 10% is probably what they’re aiming at. It might be more in some cases. If we follow class balance, up to 20% can be expected.
The people screaming the loudest are mad that there’s any difference at all. If it was a .05% increase, we’d still be here.
They didn’t with corruption. Oh they will have longer to work on them than corruption? What about azerite? It’s been in the live game almost 2 years and is still not close to being balanced so they gave up and put “bis” on every raid piece rather than balancing them.
They have done absolutely nothing to make me think they can balance them. In fact they have a stunningly consistent record of not balancing things.
So to be clear…
- this isnt that big of a deal outside the extreme top end.
- Players will judge you based on your covenant, (and your class, and your spec, and your gear level and your achievements, and your legendary). As it was, so it shall ever be. I dont mean to be flippant. But yes, at high end, you will be judged. This is factually correct and despite the fact you could still clear the encounter, players at the high end want to clear it efficiently because they want to progress their character with the least resistance possible.
- If you are entering the highest PUG tiers, you will be declined based on one of several possibilities (or lose your spot to a better geared, better optimised character).
- If you arent optimised, its your fault. Someone else with the exact same information did better research out of game.
- This is a ladder. Its the competitive game. It is NOT the casual game. Learn to optimise if you want to climb the ladder.
- Dont cry to me or Triksi. We both agree. Go find a guild, or languish in the mid tier if you dont have the right gear or load out or whatever other demands your gl needs.
- This isnt about you. If im forming a group its because i want to progress my character. Youre just there to facilitate this. I dont know you. I dont care about you. I will likely never see you again in game. If you want it to be about you, then make your own group and set your own demands. Literally no one is stopping you.
- Welcome to the competitive game. Stop crying. Sort your self out.
- This is NOT sarcasm. This is obvious reality in the competitive (high end -non casual) game.
We agree! Players in the high end competitive game should do their due diligence. Thankfully, with covenants locked this is so incredibly easy that they shouldnt mess it up. You only have 4 covenants and 3 soulbinds (and several legendary options). By the time beta is over, there will be multiple youtube and text guides telling you how to get the absolute best of your spec. But even then, perhaps you should be rethinking your main. Because there will also be guides telling you which classes are optimal for which kinds of encounters using which covenants and load outs. You really have no excuse. So go read this and stop crying to us.
Youre restricted??? So is everyone else, yet the person stealing your spot somehow made it work! You can too! You dont like it? Its not fair! youd be so much better if you had this covenant instead? Go roll it then! why did you sink time into a covenant without research. Are you actually hardcore, or just… hardly core? This is the meta. If you want to get an invite, you need to follow it. Or the 1 perc… i mean 10 perc… i mean 20 perc… i mean 50% of the playerbase will never accept you! Dont come crying to me or triksi when you fail to sim correctly.
ETA: Also, when blizzard comes in all guns blazing (AS THEY ALWAYS DO) to ‘balance’ the covenants, you eat it! Your covenant is no longer FotM. It was for a patch cycle, now it isnt. You EAT it. You respec your covenant, you utilise every method available to you to play catch up and you eat it. This is nothing new to the game. You should expect this and anticipate it depending on how out of whack your load out is on release.
This is about right, you got covenant abilities and soulbind power systems.
Then you have Legendaries which I wouldn’t know where to guess how much in percentage that would contribute to character power.
Lol, I don’t even play Dota. Also, why do you even post on a lvl 11 classic alt? Hard to take you seriously.
Please give a positive for locking the level 55 and 60 talent rows that’s not it punishing the dreaded min maxers.
torghast was another vision 2.0 that’s why they had to, they had no other choice they were forced to.
now try to actually make them re design covenant signature abilities and spell abilities… highly unlikely to happen before 9.3.
The game is also going to either have to be tuned around individual top-performing Covenants, making it significantly harder or impossible to do without those Covenants, or not - in which case the content will be faceroll easy with the right Covenant.
Don’t need to redesign just make them two new talent rows.
I don’t, please explain how they are hypocritical. All I see is someone saying they will decline people.
There are usually one to two raid encounters that actually matter and usually they come down to single target burst at specific points.
So who is to say they are doing the entire raid or a raid at all? They could be doing one mythic plus dungeon.
Decline for the wrong covenant you say? That’s cool.
you know they are not going to invest resources into that… remember that we will have tier sets back in 9.2 or people forgot already? investing resources into that it’s highly unlikely to happen…
the solution is there and they don’t have to spend resources for it…
