Because people keep talking about how great it was back then and how it’s worse now, when it absolutely is better in terms of casual progression.
The chill player has multiple levels of easy content to enjoy, and if they want to get into the higher stuff, they have the option to find friend groups with similar skills and goals to do so, avoiding the toxicity entirely.

Yep, I knew you were a troll, but you’re not actually even trying at this point. Have a little self-respect and pride in your work!
I know where I’d LIKE to put them, does that count?
I miss Callings. People didn’t like them but in an expansion like DF where world stuff is optional I think it’s kind of a miss to not have them. Wouldn’t make world stuff any less optional, but would be just a little bonus every couple days fot those who did it. If they kept them it would have pushed me over the edge into actually doing Zaralek content.
I mean, what relevance does your sole experience have to do with the issue at hand?
Ok, you’ve reached a point of the game where you can play the game casually.
The barrier of entry to reach the “meaningful” aspects of the game are too high and are by no means defined as casual to achieve. That is the bigger issue WoW has across the board.
Blizzard asks for too large of an investment for too little of a payoff.
It takes less that 6 hours to level 1-70. At 70 you auto hit 390 ilvl if you craft with ingenuity and run lfr for catchup shadow flame. Are you nuts? Its super low investment.
New players have no business in endgame content until the learn their class. Which they will do, if they ask questions, read guides, and play the game. Ez pz. Btw JOIN A GUILD, thats what they are there for.
Depends on one’s definition of meaningful. If that’s just being able to do the story and progress your character to an open world/queued content powerful, there’s no barrier of entry beyond paying your sub.
