No, it won’t. The game is almost 20 years old in a genre that has grown stagnant with very little innovation. People don’t want have the time to spend on MMO’s, much less one as old as WoW, anymore. Making a significant portion of the player base’s end game harder is not going have a positive effect on the game’s population.

End game is supposed to be hard, that’s the point of it being end game.
Just because it’s “old” content doesn’t mean it should magically be easy.
I can get behind this finally. Not many people even seem to pay attention to the side plot, and they would probably do the thing. (However meaningless that is.)

I mean it’s just common sense logic if you think about it.
Scaling old content = more relevant content which means more things to do in end game.
Why should Lich King be a one shot fight? It makes the loot lose its value, but if it’s scaled and you had to play it with others then this reinforces the MMO feeling while also keeping the prestige of that loot in tact.
So what should we talk about instead of the nonsense Garmuck is spreading?

What they should do is just make 2 options ALL the time, one is to just solo whatever from 2+ expansions ago and the other is to set the raid for current, at least normal, maybe heroic raid iLVL, and yes all the time, every week.

Yeh, but it’s still a waste, and since TW is only one week no one ever really does it. If they made all raids all the time, maybe not all, but most, it would give people something else to do.
We’re approaching another 100 degrees today. I’m in my sunroom and the sweat is starting to find my eyebrows.

I’m ready for the short fall season. My birthday is around Halloween, and that’s usually around the time the temperatures drop. We haven’t been in our new home over the winter yet, but it should be warmer than SE KS from what I saw last winter before moving here.
Those days are now with current raid tier and mythic seasonal content. ICC was hot when it was current but it was also gated by some toxic behavior and GS nonsense plus class preferences that made kept some players out. SWP and BT were notoriously hardcore raids that many player didn’t experience, there’s nothing wrong with someone who missed out going back for mogs, mounts, and gold.
Your whole thesis on this subject is misguided and without merit or wide appeal. The game should be fun and not limit players from accessing content that’s 10+ yrs old.
Maybe you should roll and alt and level cap yourself to MC and then find 39 other people to run the raid with. I’ll wait for you outside the AH in IF to see the LFM MC spam in general.
In the meantime I am going do a 5min run in MC for my nemesis legs.
We did that, the first 6 or 7 times we ran it when it was current content.

It will still be relevant for new players/subscribers who haven’t done that xpac yet. You’re generalizing the entire player base when it actually consists of a myriad of sub-sets … those who are just coming to the content, those who are actively in the content for the first time, and those who ran the content months (if not years) ago. We are NOT all in the same boat.

New account here. I just got finished soloing HFC on 3 difficulties on 2 characters for transmog and gold. None of the loot I got will ever be available in the trading post.

If it remains current content by scaling then it can extend the lifespan of old content.
