I change my mind on the Group Finder Tool. Not because I like the Dungeon Finder but because the Group Finder tool is absolutely a broken mess… I thought the thing was working well because I had some good success with it the first few days but now I am seeing just how busted it is. Not to mention I honestly expected something akin to the Retail Group Finder tool, well thought out and organized, easy to use. Instead this thing hardly functions.
It’s currently so bugged that regardless of what you select for your role some times it will just decide “Nah, you are actually a different role” like deciding to make priests who listed as healers instead tanks.
Who in their right mind looks at a group and goes “Oh, priest tank? That checks out!” Multiple times now, even though I 100% unchecked Tank, I have been invited and told I am the tank.
But the worst part of all this is once again the terrible community in Classic that acts like they know it all. “Duh, you gotta uncheck tank, der hur!” Well no duh, I did uncheck tank, AND I put a note in all caps saying “I AM NOT A TANK, THE TOOL IS BUGGED, I AM DPS!” and no one reads, they only see the shiny tank badge and blindly invite.
So you know what, I am changing my stance. Bring back the Dungeon Finder tool and just remove the random option. Don’t have the tool ignore daily lockouts like it did in Wrath.
Because honestly, in a community that can not even read notes clearly saying “Hey, I am DPS, the tool is bugged and showing tank” its obvious now they need all the hand holding they can get and we can’t have nice things because of the community.
Yeah sadly Wrath Classic follows the same formula as Shadowlands, they host a Beta, receive feedback that says to not go through with their decisions and they double down while introducing boosts and other monetization features and once they made off with everyone’s money and people quit en masse they add back in the original features and claim they listened to the players the whole time.
That’s fair, I am not proud enough I can’t eat crow and admit I was wrong here
This is honestly what I was expecting vs what we actually got.
It sure feels that way… Even back when I was an MVP I whole heatedly thought out feedback was heard on the forums, that they were actually read and relayed but one of the aspects that led to my leaving the program was the realization that it really doesn’t seem that way.
For all Blizzards constant promises of better communication, that feedback is heard, etc. they continue to prove themselves the old Blizzard and that nothing changes.
This is honestly getting so tiresome at this point… It seriously feels like self sabotage.
What’s funny is that we’re in the final patch of the game and half the features are missing and people still cling onto this idea that it will be successful just like the original Wrath.
On the flip side I was playing the Dragonflight beta and it’s closer to Classic than actual Classic servers, they also seem to be really listening to player feedback where they ignored it in Wrath/SL beta so I have some semblance of hope that maybe I can swap over to DF when Wrath inevitably fails.
But I guess only time will tell how it’ll play out.
Forums are by far the worst way to report bugs and Blizzard should really invest in a proper bug report form/tracker system that players can submit bugs to and can see a list of active and fixed bugs.
The in game bug report feature is limited and the bug report forum has threads of bug postings from OVER A YEAR AGO that are still issues to this day and nothing has been done about it.
Like, seriously, the way Blizzard hands bug reports are archaic at best.
Im not going to say the thing the other pro RDF players in here have said.
But, we knew not to trust Blizzard, especially after they blatantly ignored the beta testers in regards to this tool.
For making it like retails? Retail has a streamlined talent system that it can pull information from. LKC doesn’t, so the integration of that with our current talents is more of a challenge than reward.
The only logical thing to do at this point would be to just add RDF, but that means Blizzard has to admit fault, which based on prior history, will take them at least a year a to do.
Everyone is now stuck with an inferior broken system.
It’s probably a safe assumption that most people who are white knighting this garbage, did not play actual Wrath or anything before it.
There was no real social interaction back than either. You pugged in to a BM or Arc, basically said hello, maybe called out CC and that’s it. There wasn’t all this magical friendship stuff happening constantly like people think.
I’m super pro rdf but I’m not going to “rub it in” esp after reading your op since it seems to be a sincere post.
Only thing I’ll say as others have said is I don’t trust current devs to come up with new stuff because it will likely be a mess and I personally feel rdf adds more to the game than it takes away.
