You have 2 weeks

jokerd abused layers to be able to lvl so fast and then people did the same thing he did lol

You definitely could but looking at the state of the game and what literally everyone is talking about… I don’t think I am wrong.

Just because I can Empathize with someone doesn’t mean I have to agree with them. Personally, I would rather someone be straight up with me than pad my feelings. I am under no obligation to feel empathy for someone I have never met before even then.

You think layering wont be back in prepatch with all the people coming back to level?

Is this what normal looks like in here?

The way many of you are describing it, I am odd one out for not having at least 8 hours a day to play warcraft for 14 days straight.

with blizzard, who can say, they do a thing one day and do the opposite the next one

For a once(or twice) in a life time event no-lifing something for a week isnt unreasonable.

True. I think its reasonable to expect layering for the prepatch after a day of massive q’s because “We were blown away by the response to TBC Classic”. Despite “We listen to our Community”.

Well, Brian and them made such a big deal at Blizzcon about people starting in TBC being able to play with their friends immediately when TBC launches. You can’t boost Belfs and Goats. So for the ‘average gamer’ they have 2 weeks to rush to 58. They’re not going to hit that number.

You can say it’s not a big deal but Blizzard explicitly stated that was a goal of theirs. And now they’ve completely abandoned that goal. Or it was just nonsense from the beginning.

They can always boost if they want something to play with, or they can start now. solid month till launch.

But if they want to start from nothing and expect to have a character leveled then that is on them.

I guess? But a longer pre-patch would have been nicer.

Meh, it works out perfectly for me. I get to take those 3 days off anyway and we have a 3 day weekend right before it drops.

let me just go make my Draenei shaman…oh wait.

  1. In addition to exp requirements being shrunk the amount of exp given by quests is increased. The nerf is greater than 30% when it’s all combined, closer to 35% based on my beta testing.

  2. We’re talking about leveling dreanei’s and bloodelves. Those starting areas are much more streamlined. Getting to level 20 on a BE or DN will be MUCH quicker than on a gnome or the like. That’s not counted in the “30%” people quote. I’d call it about 4% of the total /played.

  3. A mount at lvl 30 SIGNIFICANTLY cuts down on travel time. For 10 levels. Call that another 2% increase.

  4. Additional quest hubs and flightpaths will remove another 2% of leveling time. You no longer have to do the “around the world” quests or grind.

That’s a 43% total reduction. And that’s if you’re not effecient.

As for the “That’s still unreasonable” type of argument…If you can’t put in that time during prepatch, what were you planning to do during tbc? You’re looking at 60 hours+ to hit level 70, 16 hours to get heroic attuned across 4 dungeons, and 40 hours to farm pre-bis. That’s 116 hours to get ready for kara. Minimum. You’re looking at 4 hours a day for a month.

Don’t get me wrong tho, I do 100% agree with you that blizzard should have made it a month. I can’t believe they’re only doing 2 weeks, especially after they said they’d “give everyone time to level”. That’s bad customer service.

I simply reject the arguments that it’s the end of the world and impossible.

Except Blizzard said that’s what they wanted players to do. Brian even talked about a friend back when TBC launched who was upset because he was stuck in Azeroth leveling the new race while everyone else was in Outland. And they wanted to avoid that with TBC Classic.

Why are people trying to defend Blizzard going back on their word?

I was planning to have a Draenei ready to go into the dark portal at launch, that is it. The dark portal at launch is a one time thing, the rest I can take in at whatever pace I want.

Where did anyone say this was either the end of the world or impossible? Nowhere.

I simply asked if people thought the extremely short prepunch was reasonable for someone to get a new character up to level 58 in time. That’s all.

And they will, because they get a 2 week headstart on what they had before. Some people will be 30, others 60, either way they got two weeks more than they had at the time he was talking about.

And at least 2 weeks less than most of us understood to be length of the pre-patch. Either way, Blizzard pulled a fast one, and many people seem to be upset over it.

I am glad I will have a head start compared to OG TBC though.

Legitimately, if I wasn’t working from home & didn’t have a great group of friends to help, there’s no way I’d have a paladin leveled and ready to go in two weeks. If I was trying to level on my own, and having to do it while working a fulltime job outside my house, I don’t think I’d have the time to get it done (especially when I’m trying to bank some extra hours in order to take off after launch).

It’s doable*** but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s essentially impossible for some people to accomplish.

But less time than Blizzard suggested we’d get. I don’t know why you people are so hung up on “you didn’t get a headstart 14 years ago!”

So what? lol

they didn’t suggest any time frame, or length
