Maybe, maybe not. I’ve purchased games that took absurd amounts of time and came out as gems. I’ve also purchased games that took absurd amounts of time and were complete garbage. I equate the time period to WoW’s expansions. How many expansions/years does one have to go through before quality arrives?
I’m getting cyberpunk 2077 vibes and ff15 too. Any game that is in development forever raises a red flag for me.

You can build a high end computer for about $1,000 tbh. (Note: not top end, but top quality)

Every 2 years we get a new expansion. Ashes has been in development for 12 years. WoW is making content 6x as fast
WoW never leaves development.
They are making expansions, not the base game ground up.
They hardly add any real content, its mostly continuation of existing content.

Within a couple years I think. It finished Alpha 1 during/start of shadowlands. They will continue modifying and adding more content into the game until everything is top notch, and they’re very transparent about issues. The devs are very open to ideas and suggestions too. They openly speak in their discord with players and what not. I have faith based in their behavior/actions. Alpha two can take a year, Beta similar.

I don’t see anything too crazy, very humaniod race options.
Better than that New World but still a far cry from the amount of truly unique racial options I’d want in my next MMO.

Exactly, also ground up is different than adding to existing.
The last decent Expansion was Legion. Prior to that arguably Mop. You’ve got about the same time frame tbh.

WoW is old as dirt. It’s a fossil of a game.
Doesn’t mean it’s gonna die soon, but it’s never gonna be in the spotlight ever again.
Ashes, on the other hand. New technology.

Ashes of Creation seems like a terrible game that does nothing new or exciting. If a game is truly a ‘game changer’ there will just be people migrating in mass and continuing to do so not jumping ship after a month or two.
