It didn’t violate any rules. These communities are mass flagging any threads on the topic.
Trolling???
It was a thread about people cheating and griefing. I’m not trolling anyone. These communities mass flag these threads and report anyone who tries to bring up the topic.
Please restore it.
If you explicitely named anyone or shown “proof” that was similar to this, then the community has a point in flagging it.
In the meantime, it is in moderator queue for review whether if it should be restored or not.
The thread likely had more tags for trolling then violating EULA, but the system message did spell out it was still under review, so it likely will have to wait moderator review to determine.
Making threads about discussion though is not really allowed.
It takes between 3-5 flags to temp hide a post for Moderator review. That post can still be read. It is not gone.
A CLOSED thread means a Moderator actually agreed with the need to do so. It could be due to the nature of the topic, the language used, or more often it is due to the thread turning into a giant mud slinging argument that is not constructive and breaks many of the Code of Conduct rules.
If you got your thread closed, it may not even be YOUR fault. I would just avoid whatever it was that resulted in that thread being a mess in the future.
Talking about closed or deleted threads is not something the code of conduct allows. Might want to edit this.
It was NOT the 3-5 flags on your post that got it taken down. It was an actual Moderator deciding the thread was not ok overall for the forums. A human, agreeing that the thread needed to be removed.
So no, you are not being “mass flagged”. Poster flags have zero impact other than to alert a mod.
I didn’t name anyone or any community.
The thread was closed and unlisted.
This has happened plenty of times before. The multiboxxers did it as well. They keep silencing anyone who tries to bring up the topic.
It’s closed and unlisted.
It’s not. I didn’t break any rules. I’m not trolling anyone by bringing up the topic of premades. I’m literally being harrassed by these people. They are openly insulting anyone who says anything and they continue to post here with impunity.
Can you guys just get the backs of the people in the community that are actually trying to make the game better?
It is now. It is not the players flagging it though that results in it. It is a Moderator actually deciding the thread breaks the forum rules as a whole, (even if an individual first post is ok).
My point is that “mass flags” did not cause that. That is an action done by a Moderator after reviewing the thread.
To put it simply: The CS forum isn’t for this kind of thing. We’re not your friends and having your back would mean nothing in the end as we, the players/MVPs, have no power in relation to the form mods and actions thereafter.
Mass flagging is what got it there in the first place.
I didn’t violate any rules. Been here for decades. This is incredibly frustrating. The people actually breaking the rules are getting off and the people trying to come up with solutions are the ones being punished. This is insane.
I have no voice. There is no where for me to say anything. What is with this forum? Why can’t I get just one response.
My thread didn’t violate any rules and I’m being punished.
Flagging may have brought it to our attention, what happens after that is up to a moderator.
That particular issue usually spins out of control very quickly with infighting. A closed and unlisted topic is preserved for those that may need to see the information, it just shuts down the discussion.
So, in short - that’s the best outcome of a feedback thread that becomes controversial and contentious. Those that the information may be useful to, can still see it - but it stops the back and forth bickering.
It would not have been closed and de-listed by an actual Moderator if the thread, or portions of it, were not breaking the forum code of conduct.
You seem upset that people “snitched” which drew attention to the thread. Try focusing on the thread content or behavior in it that caused the Mod to make that decision.
Snitched? Upset?
My thread that violated no rules was removed after taking quite a bit of my time to put together. I’m openly being harrassed and yet I’m the one getting punished. Yes, that is pretty frustrating.
That means any time these communities want something to get removed, they can just nuke it with bad faith responses. How is that helping? Why do I have to be hostage to what they say? Remove their responses if they are the problem.
You are not getting punished. Your thread can still be read by the Community Managers who collect feedback.
If you were punished you would not be posting right now. You would be suspended.
The result is the same. The topic dies and the effort put into is gone.
Again, if something is bad in the thread, address the people that are violating the rules.
Just to post what a blue said in another thread:
The issue is, this is happening specifically in the premade threads. These communities are actively suppressing threads on the topic. They did it on Reddit, so it’s unsurprising they are doing it here.
Adroi, a large part of our job here on the forums is to keep things civil - and on track.
Certain topics derail quickly.
Don’t think that someone breaking our rules in the thread get off scott-free, they often do not.
One purpose of these forums is discussion, but the other huge part is feedback our community managers take to the devs. Topics that spin out of control are counter-productive to that.
I locked this one before, and unlocked it. Please don’t make me regret that decision. I don’t mind answering questions but you do not seem to be understanding what I’m trying to communicate.
I can’t speak for reddit and my elven ears shutter at the fact that I even typed the word out, but on these forums, a thread isn’t necessarily shut down because of the content of the original post. It can be shut down because repliers derailed it and turned it into a dumpster fire, which is generally the case in general discussion.
I’m not sure you’re properly understanding what was explained. As suggested by the moderator, your post was not necessarily shut down because of what YOU posted, but rather because other people derailed the discussion and turned it into something unproductive. You didn’t have to do anything wrong, which would explain why you still have your posting privileges. If you were being punished:
