Don’t assume you know anything about me. I did actually read the legal paperwork here. They are pursuing this case from several different angles at once. Yes it will all come out in the trials. However they would not be pursuing Acti/Blizzard at all if there wasn’t something actually there to stand on. CA spent 2 years combing thru books it stands to reason they found some skellies in their closet.
3rd part HR would mean the funds don’t come from Blizzard or the state but instead comes from a pooled fund from both controlled by the bank that would not care what the findings where so long as they where accurate.

What you are saying makes sense a small business person you have to be very aware of every cent as it ultimately comes out of and into your pockets.
Managers of large corporations have no such connection to the company’s wealth other than staying within their budget. They don’t care if they are being economical but they do care that their budget will be cut if they don’t spend it. They can have priories that may or may not directly contribute to the company’s best interests.
Two completely different worlds.

Isn’t a lot of pay gap stuff more to do with what the employees feel comfortable asking for? Companies largely won’t pay you significantly more unless you actively ask for it. Either during the hiring process or later on, doesn’t really matter.
Note that I haven’t read into any of the specifics of this case. Just speaking generally about pay issues.

Did you know it’s already illegal to pay women less than men on the basis that they are women? And it has been illegal for decades.

If you have ever been in the fashion industry you will know that women are just as capable of being horrible too. I once had a boss in display that was a man that felt like he had to act gay even though he wasn’t.
It’s wrong when it happens no matter the side. It’s basically all about those in charge need to resist the urge to be jerks with the power they have.
One case that always comes to mind is I was doing some freelance work for a guy who owned a number of franchise locations all around town here back in the mid 80s.
this guy was a total lech thru and thru.
Women were ONLY hired as ‘office girls’…and put in positions where there was no possible chance of being promoted ever.
He’d bring them in knowing they knew nothing about the industry and then take advantage of their worrying about losing their jobs when they couldnt hack it.
When I graduated probably half my class were female. They were as good as…if not better than…most of the males in my class, at doing the same jobs of various sorts, including running big equipment.
This city has a number of women who’ve Ive run into at a list of these related businesses who are more than capable and have very good reputations around town…ie good owners were constantly trying to steal ANY good worker because the field is high stress and many end up abusing some sort of substance or another…so you’d THINK that these owners would hire a GOOD FEMALE worker over some addicted MALE…but that wasnt the case at all …again…in maybe a full third of the busineses I interacted with.
The one guy would hit on any female. Employee, customer…some woman walking out on the street outside the business, lmao.
Ive seen enough to absolutely KNOW what conditions exist for women on the job.
IF I hadnt SEEN it with my own eyes, I might just be as naive as the gent above who keeps pretending HIS experiences dictate everyone elses and deny that it happens.
And agian…we have a case RIGHT HERE that is proof that its happening lmao…so his denial is literally a denial of REALITY.
