If I’m building a group logs provide me 2 critical questions.
- Has this person done the fights before successfully?
- Was this person an active participant in the fights or were they being carried?
I’m sorry that it bothers you, but logs absolutely provide that data and that data is a measurement of success. I’m not interested in having someone cause wipes and waste time because they don’t understand a mechanic because they have never done the fight. I’m not interested in playing with someone who did less than auto attack damage as a dps player on fights.
Do the 95+ parses mean much? No not really. Most of those are hyper optimized group comps and strats which do not impact the success of a regular run.
Do sub 50 parses mean much? Absolutely. If you’re well below the median on a normalized curve then I should be concerned about whether you’re going to perform the dps I expect of you in the run to complete the fights smoothly.
The only role where parses are relatively meaningless is for healers. If the boss died then they did their job. A healing parse is a function of how bad the rest of their group was. The worse the dps players are, the higher the healing parse.
