You can 4-star Torghast while ignoring the Timer (I did)

That does look like the map in question. There is another map that looks like that one though or at least it starts out the same.

Try it when they’re about to die, instead of on pull, so you’re Empowered when they die. See if that makes a difference. (Dunno if it will.)

yes, that’s how i use it. pop it before you turn in a rescue quest or break a bunch of urns. it also seems helpful to pop it right before the floor 2 boss dies – you enter floor 3 with the buff still up and it pauses on that floor, so you get 100% empowered bonus on floor 3.

One more question for the general audience lol…

Has anyone found a way to track progress of the stars you’ve earned on wings? Ie, if I had a 3 star on one wing but a 4 on another, is there a way to see that somewhere in the UI? Raid tab? Mouseover on the map?

Makes “flawless” a bit of a misnomer. Petition to change 5 star to “super good”

You can’t ignore bonuses, bonuses are the key. You can die once, bacause thanks to a Venari Upgrade your first death doesn’t counts.

The game doesn’t give you a rating on each floor, just completion %%, empowered bonus, and floor time/par time.

I don’t think so? It would be nice though. Maybe just jot down/ screenshot your scoreboard at the end for now.

well, the thing is that you just can’t ignore all of those in a single run. people who are used to spending 3 hours, dying 15-20 times, and ignoring all urns? yeah, they’re going to have to change the way they play if they want to progress to higher layers.

edit: this is hyperbole. i’m aware you couldn’t die 15 or 20 times in old torghast

I managed to get 229 points as a resto druid solo after following some tips from people here.
I completely ignored the timer, but focused on everything else, like killing elites quickly, not picking repeated or purple powers, killing everything, breaking all vases etc.

It got kind of annoying when on floor 4 I got a power with 2 repeated ones so I could not pick anything else anymore, fortunately there’s no floor 6 anymore so I only had to endure the annoying thing onscreen for a floor lol.

That’s what I’m saying though lol. I have intentionally taken my time and yet completed in 30 mins or less… rescued everything, opened everything, broke everything… died once on one run but I have the no penalty from Venari thing… and on my 2nd run I did run into one trap.

Still got 3 stars each time lol. I just don’t see how people are waltzing through with minimal (and sometimes accidental) effort and 5 starring it. I’m gonna try a 4th run later today and we’ll see how it goes.

It’s been a hot minute since I tried torghast as holy. Maybe I should give that a go.

it’s tough to do a post-mortem on these without knowing what options you had, how you pulled, etc. but it sounds like you could be making better use of the bonuses. good luck on your next run!

The blessings trivialize torghast. The per-kill CD reduction one on demo is hilarious.

I’ve had the same experience. My partner and I haven’t managed to complete any floor within the “par” time as far as I can tell, but we’ve figured out how to get Flawless pretty consistently.

It does still make me feel like the timer could just be completely eliminated, though. Why add it in at all?

You do have a good point. I heard so many people say I am going to do TC8 once I have much better gear.

A healthy substitute for actual rewards!

Yeah, but can I skip everything and finish it in 8 minutes and still get 4 stars?

Likely not.

And thus the old system was vastly superior, simply because it allowed me to spend less time inside Torghast by zerg rushing my way to the top boss.

Then what is the point of the timer? If it’s so irrelevant then remove it.

I have no idea how it works.
