Yo, Bot problems?

Unfortunately, he’s showing names, which is strictly against the ToS. He will get banned faster than the bots. Ask me how I know. The bots can operate 24/7 with a million reports with impunity, but the second you show a screenshot or a video of a bot and you’ve included their name, you’ve violated the most sacred of Blizzard ToS rules and you’re instantly suspended. Hell, Blizzard could even consider this griefing.

Boring, No one cares of your tos explenation. Well done OP get em.

It’s a little vague, but yes it is.

Here’s a link directly to customer service speaking on this topic, and restating that it DOES fall under their “harassment” category:

I was banned in Cataclysm for posting videos of a team cheating against us in high rated RBGs under this ToS rule. The video showed player names, obviously, and I was banned under this “naming and shaming” rule.

The video clearly names several Hunter players the maker claims are “bots”

Kennedye
Kezhunter
Kinballough
Stitjonas
Syladonfan
Xpyctte

Then the author of the video literally records himself griefing another player to death. That hunter might have taken 200-300 hours to level and gear. Perhaps it was a “bot”, or perhaps it was a child or an adult with developmental disabilities? Who knows. It’s not our job to police that and grief players in some kind of vigilante justice. Report them and if Blizzard investigates and agrees with you, they get a suspension. That;s how this works. If you think Blizzard is too slow, or doesn’t care enough (both probably true) then quit and play another game with a more attentive developer.

I see a grief followed by a “name and shame”, both against ToS.

I always support the destruction of bots.

Thats because you were literally calling them out goofy.

Me posting a video with other players around me is NOT against the ToS. Me recording players names with the intent of calling them out is against the ToS.

this… what, we can’t post any WoW videos unless we blank out every single screen name? lol :expressionless:

That’s exactly what this is though. It’s literally a video of “Look at the Hunter bots I’ve been trying to grief” with a list of not only several names, but one he does kill. You make this sound innocent. The video is literally “Hey Kinballough is a cheater!” That’s against the ToS.

If you’re accusing them of cheating, correct. That’s the “shame” part of “name and shame”. I’ve already linked both the ToS and Mod quotes on this. I don’t know what is confusing. Or are you just acting confused because you don’t like it?

I don’t like it, either. I was banned for 3 months in Cata for posting videos to the old “Battleground forums” of a group that was cheating around 2200-2400 MMR. They were fly hacking, wall hacking and selling Hero of the Horde boosts. Blizzard wasn’t doing anything in game so we brought our grievance, and our proof, to the forums. I was banned as were three other members of my team for posting the videos.

If you cant see the difference then i dont kmow what to tell you little bro. Its not that difficult and youre incorrect, its always been this way, thats why this post hasnt even been flagged or taken down.

Theres literally no “name and shame” in the entire OP.

So youre saying if i post a video of me PvPing then im going to get in trouble for peoples names being in the video?

This person didnt come to the forums and say look at this player named (insert) theyre definitely botting! < this would be against the ToS.

What they posted is NOT name and shaming clearly

If you post a video of you PvPing and claiming the people you’re fighting are hacking, then yes. That’s the difference between naming and “naming and shaming”.

These forums are barely moderated now. This is a clear name and shame. it’s also a grief, intentionally killing another player’s hardcore character. Two ToS violations. But Blizzard/Activision has cut 99% of their customer service departments - it’s almost entirely automated now.

You cannot make any negative commentary on any specific player in a WoW video? ok, whatever you say, officer :expressionless:
