Guild banks are purely for convenience and should not be added for the same reason dual specialization shouldn’t be added for convenience sake. If you want to play two specs without respecing every time then you level another character of the same class. If you want a guild bank you coordinate with the leadership and decide who will hold what or if one person holds everything.
I fail to see how guild banks are more secure than a guild bank alt… guild banks open up the possibility and create an avenue for the guild master to basically take everyone to the cleaners. At least with guild bank alts you can have multiple people holding different things to alleviate the stress of “losing it all” if someone dies IRL/decides to screw everyone over/ isn’t online all the time to access the character.
And it’s been the security aspects alone I’m interested in. I don’t care if they’re a byproduct of TBC or Cataclysm or whatever.
I don’t care about extra storage, I don’t care about gold reserves. All the convenience is immaterial. I’m only interested in the security.
And it’s necessary.
Would be the same response as in Retail. Guild master is the ultimate master here.
Goodbye to any credibility that guy had, or will ever have. Moreso in Classic than anywhere else.
What even the Guildmaster cannot do, is legally access an account that is not his. He can’t “get his stuff back” if he put someone else in charge of the guild bank alt.
If a Guildmaster does it? Yes. Blizzard required ten different people to vouch for the guild at its creation. The Guildmaster is arbiter, and the community can have at him.
What happens if you have a good guildmaster, but the owner of the guild bank alt drops off the planet? What happens to your guild bank and everything in it?
A few years down the road, we will need something to sink gold into.
If you don’t want to pay for the Gbank. Then you don’t have to.
It should be costly and out of reach of anyone less than 60.
Just like spells, professions, and riding; its gonna cost, you won’t be able to buy it all right away.
The game should not be altered to fascilitate mass storage because the people playing the game decided they want to stockpile things. You get the bank space you get, if you want more you can make a new character.
Was that thread created AFTER Blizzard made their decision that they would be implementing 1.12 AV?
If it was, there is your answer. I already indicated that when they made their decidion, I accepted that decision like a mature adult.
I’ve also indicated that should Blizzard decide to add the non vanilla QOL convenience of guild banks to Classic, I will also accept that decision like a mature adult even though I disagree.
