XPoff vs XPon debate needs to stop

It’s what many anti twinks wanted.

Fair is fair.

The only people who that would “deincentivize” would be Gearless PVErs who join a PVP game, thinking that it’s a PVE Dungeon and want to be carried to the next level.

Sounds like a flawless solution, save for the fact that PvP-minded players will be resigned to questing and dungeons to get to endgame instead of participating in content that we actually enjoy.

Everyone wins. Except for most people. But you win and that’s what’s important.

You can still PvP without gaining xp.

Yes. Prior point stands.

Why don’t you guys go put on some enchanted heirlooms and come join the fun with the rest of us and quit worrying that you can no longer be raid bosses in pvp.

Bg’s have been so much better since the separation and we’d love to have you without you having to exploit!

Instead of advocating to kill the only method of PvP we have to level, why don’t you support better scaling to accommodate us both?

Listening to people in this thread really hit home on the audience that retail is currently catering to…

“You have more gear so it isn’t fair”

woah… almost like you’re playing an MMORPG 0.o

How is me being 120 and wiping the floor with other 120s any different than me being 59 and wiping the floor with others in the bracket?? I have done end game PvP… a lot of it. There is no difference between me hopping in an RBG and seeing a 120 with 90k hp who I just roflstomp, and a 54 with 4800 hp where I also roflstomp him. It is almost like the gear matters in and mmorpg o.o

But it’s fine. The current generation WoW players will really love retail once classic is out and all the people who ruin your fun move to that game.

Man you could host an entire BG just in the chip on your shoulder. Here’s what would actually happen if XP left BGs:

  • the people who are good at PVP and love usIng it to level alts would likely stop leveling altogether (this is my bucket). See all those people with > honor level 20? Gone. Queue times go up.

  • the gearless PVE peeps immediately stop queuing and go back to dungeons. LFG queues might actually drop a bit, BG queues go up again.

  • the twink community (who as a reminder is so small that their queues do not pop at all) go back to annihilating anyone else in a BG.

  • Anyone else who does queue runs into the dystopian future of twink overload and quits and then spams the forums to ban twinks. Queues increase again.

  • the twink community that is left fractures as the gear-dependant scrubs get frustrated with losing their advantage and getting wrecked by the good twinks. They reroll FOTM but eventually burn out. Queues increase.

  • the resulting BGs end up being essentially identical to the current XPOFF queue but that point gets lost despite the six hundred and forty two daily threads announcing it. People are told to “git gud”.

I admire your virtue in at least believing that people will continue to queue
If you deincentiize it. They won’t - and this argument you’re pushing is really more a thinly-veiled attempt to sneak twinks back into general queues - but I do give you credit for the whole warriors code thing; even if you are advocating completely removing one of only three ways to level consistently.

Not really much of a loss honestly. They are already wastes of slots anyway. Any time I see people with barely any gear or say a hunter with cloth boas I use them as bait or just watch them die. they are literally a waste of a spot.

You’re right, the debate needs to stop, Blizzard already removed XP off players 10 years ago, BFA was just an oversight after they let them back in for legion with templates.

Nothing to discuss.

Yet another one to one comparison between endgame and pre-cap.

0 levelers at endgame. 0 competing goals. Discussed ad nausium.

We see how popular the xpoff queues are. Removing xp from BGs all together wouldn’t help anyone. The majority of players participating in sub 120 bgs are levelers. Proof is in the lack of xpoff players since separation 2.0 went live.

WoW bgs were so much better when gear didnt make so much of a difference. Its fun with the gear but most players wont be bothered with gearing a sub 120 character to participate in battlegrounds. The gear grind doesnt really make sense until 120 where it really matters, so having people feel as though they have to grind for gear for every bracket to feel competitive is just to daunting of a task.

I suppose the only way to make levelers feel more inclined to invest more time into gearing as they level is to make the leveling content more difficult or require a certain power range to progress. Not really where the game has been going though over the years.

Not sure why I posted this as I am no longer apart of the WoW gaming community. My sub has been inactive for a month now. Residual hope for WoW and its devs I suppose. Who knows… :pensive:

they should remove xp gains from bgs.

they should remove game timers in bgs and remove the queue system.

instead you talk to a battle master and are placed in a battleground currently in progress…instant join…no xp… no crying no queue times… just pvp… if u want to pvp…i vaguely remember this being the system at one point but idk i was like 12… and what is this?

You say that as if twinks stop people from getting xp. When they actually get the same amount reguardless. Kanstile’s comparison still stands to be correct.

Misrepresentation isn’t a good look, neither is aimless spite.

Unfortunately both are common.

This is kind of pointless with Classic coming.

You actually think Blizzard won’t screw up PvP in Classic?

I do worry about the PVP gear not being available until the raids are, but hey.

I mean, yeah. Have you been reading the content plan posts? Most people seem pretty happy with how the team is handling Classic.
