I don’t really care either way. when does arathi basin come out? why only wsg and av, is that the original pattern ?
AV/WSG launched in patch 1.5. AB came in patch 1.7.
But I have never heard a compelling reason for not releasing AB with the other BG’s.
yeah I wish they woulda just released everything up until blackwing lair including all bg and vendor sorts at the same time. onyxia only patch was a disgrace, and world pvp but no bgs is awkward.
/shrug I’m already in gear that the blue pvp set with the 2 piece bonus would be at best a side grade to on my lock in mostly dungeon blues. Once ZG and AQ20 come out which I expect will be as pugged as MC/Ony the blue pvp sets will fall even farther behind.
And i think you’re greatly over estimating how many people will get to the epic set. Or even rank 10 but I guess we’ll see how honor farming actually ends up shaking out in classic vs vanilla.
Do you really not understand why this would be impossible?
Most PvP realms would have 2 week queues. BGs will be cross server, there’s no other choice.
They don’t want to world PvP.
Alliance on PVE realms will still queue for BGs because a lot of BIS PVE gear is obtained from BGs.
It mainly has to do with the 2-piece set bonus(23 spell damage). For instance the R10 shoulders are 13 int, 12 spell damage, and 1% spell crit. But if you divide the 2-piece in half and apply it to the shoulders, they are 13 int, 23.5 spell damage, and 1% crit.
2-piece blue PvP set would be BiS for mage/warlock until Mish’undare or T2.5.

I’d suspect the cool factor would rank higher priority for most. Redbud and you are right about some pieces and the set bonus being really good and even BIS in some cases, but in many cases it’s the other way around, many PvE pieces are BIS for PvP. But if you can rank up in time, for the phases PvP gear has some potentially huge benefits, (naturally including phase-BIS) but PvP gear is also outshined by many PvE pieces very heavily, with the R10, R14 and exalted AB/WSG/AV in mind. I just want to say that as a reminder for anyone who is quick to jump the gun on such statements.
Instanced pvp was broken up by battlegroup.
The only time you ever saw anyone outside of your home realm, was in a BG.
You’re assuming that because people on pve servers don’t share your bizarre fetish for teaming up with thirty of your closest friends to repeat on some poor orc or night elf, we don’t like to pvp.
I like BGs. I’ll be queuing for BGs. And I’d still be doing it even if there weren’t bis to be had from them, just like when I played retail.
Agreed. Realm specific BGs is the only way horde would leave their safe havens
Except that wouldn’t fix anything, it would just kill the game. MOST servers are heavily imbalanced so that idea would artificially cap those servers at ~1/3rd their total population. If 2/3rds of the population cannot play they will quit, then the game will die when there aren’t enough players for Blizzard to keep the servers running.
So say you couldn’t play your main for a week straight because of “faction queues”, how happy are you going to be?
this is wrong and not even close. 120 horde queues are 5-10 mins
We all are gonna get farmed by the private server veterans
You do know that Classic WoW is Horde dominated in general right? Out of all American servers alliance only dominates 9 total servers including PvE and RP servers. Only 2 of those servers have a stable population.
people havent learned by now that blizzard is going to do the content they have planed the way they want to do it.
it really doesnt matter if you dont want cross realm bgs.its planned and they are going to do it.
Actually, I’m assuming basing on retail having a roughly 50-50 faction spread (based on a few census sites) and still needing mercenary mode for the horde to have decent ques. You and the other two posters replying to me may of rolled PvE and like battlegrounds, but for the balance to be even you at least need the majority of PvE alliance to feel the same way for the rest of the games life, even after they have their rewards.
I concede that the first week or two may be fine while battlegrounds are the shiny new thing to try, but many PvE realm ally trying PvP for the first time will get bored / frustrated much faster than the horde will.
ok, realm specific BGs for pvp servers. That would be great.
Then the imbalance after transfers woud be 90% pve, 10% pvp
That isn’t what is suggested. Queues will fill layers. No one will be left out.
