Well CRBGs allowed for non-stop queues. So now the whole “honor per hour” became a thing because there were fast queues.
Before, you actually wanted to win a game since games didnt come fast. To do that efficiently, you wanted a premade.
With non stop queues, any one can just get a high amount of honour by spamming games. So the time to prepare for a game, find a group, etc. didnt outweight the time investment to put it togther.
So whole pvp guilds died.
The worse part is that all it did was inflate honor; no one ranked faster since the whole system was relative to how much others got
You know what else was BIG feature of 1.12 PVP? 10% diminishing returns on PVP kills…
Guess what system they did not use? The 1.12 one.
Guess what else was a big feature of 1.12? Mount cost being cheap while riding skill being expensive. Again they did not use the 1.12 version.
So given that this is not a “pure” 1.12 straight out of the box why then should they be forced to use CRBG?
CRBG’s are dumb, they ruin the local server PVP community… That is enough to simply not like them.
Worse CRBG’s promote faction stacking because people falsely assume that the Q’s will be decent, as a result people roll dominant faction on their server to both dominate world PVP and get fast Q’s.
The horde will have long Q’s regardless so CRBG’s will not help them because they’re overpopulated as a PVP audience.
There is no escape for the horde and long Q’s, so you may as well support local server BG’s because it will actually help the problem solve it self organically.
It definitely will be a thing. Following the 1.12 battlegroup system, they will be mixing PvE and PvP servers too which is almost the worst case scenario.
I just hope that Blizzard doesn’t gerrymander further the high alliance population PvE servers with high horde population PvP servers resulting in PvP battlegrounds with instant pops for horde and long wait for alliance.
It will be a thing. It was in Vanilla, it’ll be in here.
Don’t get me wrong, I hated cross server because it was almost useless making a name for yourself. Same server bgs you always ran into “oh sh*t! It’s {name} party! This is gonna be a challenge! Gank him first!”. But with no server specific forums and huge faction imbalances, it’s just fact that the inevitable is cross server groups. This is just a different time and we just gotta accept that that’s just a thing of the past. Though it did feel really really great when it was solo server.
This is so wrong. Total faction populations don’t mean anything. It’s the population of players actually queuing BG’s that matters. There’s a ton more pvp centric players on Horde due to OP racials and a lot more pve centric players on alliance.
Retail horde has had 30min+ bg queues with cross-realm bgs and with mercenary mode (which won’t be in classic). 10 min horde queues is honestly delusional.
Fun Fact: PvEers will be grinding BGs as much or more than PvPers to push r14 since the gear will be BiS for every class in some way even after BWL comes out.
And when PvP gear annihilates PvE gear for PvE content on retail, make sure to let me know.
You understand how it works? The 30 min queue is for horde queuing as horde. Some horde queue as mercenary for instant queues. This reduces the queue for horde queuing as actual horde. But it’s still 30 mins. W/e your living in dream land if you horde will have fast queues in classic.
Just because it was in Vanilla doesn’t mean that it will be there? 10 second no CD invulnerable Mail was in Vanilla at one point. Dont think they used that version.
Key Rings were in 1.12 yet we dont have it.
1.12 is just used for numbers/balance; the features/content themselves dont necessarily have to be 1.12. Especially since the ‘feel’ of vanilla is old AV and server-only BGs
PvE servers still do battlegrounds. I’m planning on getting rank 13 and I would have rolled on a PvE server if not for my guild. I love PvP, but ganking isn’t PvP.
I knew that in phase 2 the PvP on PvE servers would be better than the PvP on PvP servers. And it is.
X-realm BGs has been confirmed already, what has not been confirmed to my knowledge is if there battlerealms or not, I do believe they should include them.
Right, which is why they should do them with battle realms, they haven’t specified if they are doing it that way or just the lazy way of one giant pool of everyone.
