Can confirm there was a name release based on the one I just got. It wasn’t available the other day when I checked.
I didn’t score the ones I listed in my post above, but I scored probably one of my top 10 of all time and that’s enough for me. There’s a few others available that are amazing, but I won’t use them so I left them alone. Good luck.

Also! It’s important to remember with realms and guilds and such being cross-faction and cross-realm You can always try other lower population realms for names you want. I Imagine the low pop RP realms will have some names.

I grabbed Lottie the other day thinking it would be nice for alt. Then the big name release happened and I got 3 of my most wanted names on this realm. Just freed Lottie back up, and also freed up Ashly, Jessamin, Megyn, and Morrigyn.

Maybe I’m missing something but if I want to roll a char on MG and snag the name Norman on say, Argent Dawn, how does that help me get Norman on MG?

with guilds being cross-realm there isn’t really a need to have your character on the same server besides you just really want it to be on that server.

So it works if you’re social because someone can anchor you to the desired server. That makes sense.

I wish I could help you. It looks like you’ve got the same issue I do. The name “Calco” shows up as a 404 (likely inactive or below lvl 10).
The two names I’ve been after for years, have been this way for…years. One I posted above and the other is my real name.
I get folks doing the name hoarding and looking to make some gold. Not here to rant about that. I wish Blizz didn’t put us all in a position that selling names was a thing, but it is.
The problem I have is likely the same one that Calnos here has.
I want a name. It’s been 404 for years and years; possibly as many as 10? I tried writing to the person a number of times, no response. Probably twice a year for all these years. I’m not going to blow up someone’s in-game email box, but it’s frustrating that someone has it and hasn’t seemed to have done anything with it for near a decade.
The last time the WrA Calco appeared in the armory, it appeared as a Worgen Druid still decked out in BFA gear. I assumed the character had become inactive, it may be a forgotten alt of someone, perhaps it still isn’t long enough for a name release.

What is the safest way to get a name I snagged onto an existing character, without someone snatching it up in the 5 minutes it will take me to accomplish this?
I snagged a good name on WRA.
I want to rename one of my chars this name.
Do I purchase a name change, delete new char and quickly change the other one?
Is it possible for someone to snatch the name in the time it takes me to do this or is the name locked to me or something?
