Sips Coffee Rise and shine! Hope y’all have a good beginning to your week!

Depending on what you want, it’s probably possible in base game or through mods? The sims look how you want, so you can just easily modify things to not look so perfect. I’ve recently started trying to make sims that just look like average people.

Like the “pretty shiny” things, in my experience, are player decisions.

Finally, thankfully, we got rain this week. Not used to experiencing drought and I was getting nervous over reports of wildfires. Now it’s time to enjoy tea on a Fall rainy day. :tea:

If you liked the soup kitchen, you may also enjoy volunteering in elderly care or hospice.

You just hang out with them. Play games. Chat mostly about simple things. I used to sneak them forbidden things like chocolates; if they only have a few weeks to live anyway, they might as well have some chocolate.

They are another neat perk of being subbed. It’s like having admin settings on private servers for normal survival games. But honestly, I prefer playing on the public servers because the community is generally pretty awesome. Or was when I was playing.

Read a post today that said auto insurance is a scam and we’d be better off not having it and having people pay their claims out of their own pocket.

Good grief.

Been enjoying working out on my deck and getting Vitamin D the old-fashioned way. Not keen on the sun setting at 5:30 though. Here we go again. Hopefully Winter will come with snow this time.

Also been leaning into Fields of Mistria more and now I understand the appeal. The first 15 minutes, it felt too much like a Stardew clone to warrant the attention, but now I’m all in. It has several QoL differences from Stardew and also allows you to lean into JRPG/adventuring aspects. The BGM basically being late 90s/early 00s Weather Channel Local on the 8s Vaporwave is also major Millennial nostalgia.

Well, whoever wrote that was very optimistic about how much money most people have in their pockets. Right now, I could afford to pay about a $10 claim. lol.

It is a scam, currently. But getting rid of it outright is insanity.

Unfortunately, I think the entire global economy is going to gear towards scams in the coming years. But that’s just my read on the situation.

I got all my dishes done. Almost all of them, tbh, but the ones that are dirty can just be put in the dishwasher when the current load is done.

I do pretty good with dishes because I’m a ‘clean as you go’ person.

TBH I did almost all the dishes yesterday but there were more today because that is unfortunately how dishes work lmao.

Most of the mess was from today’s chili.

I do have ADHD tho so i can sometimes go a few days without doing the dishes. That’s always the worst of it.

Double check all the ‘information’ you get and consider the source. The next four years are going to be nothing but blatant disinformation, grift and attempted psuedo-religious indoctrination, both in the schools and the media.

Definitely get a VPN.

If you have an online period tracker, disable it. If you know somebody’s seeking aid with reproductive matters, no you don’t. Learn the laws on filming police in your state and country, know your rights and get a lawyer on speed dial, and if you see anybody pulled over, you yell if they want you to film the encounter for them.

Do not put up anything on social media that is traceable. No face shots, no kids, no place of work or the location of your home. That means no street signs, land-marks, no real names used and no tattoos or other physically identifying parts of your body.

Stay off of X, its going to become tracking software faster than you can say “Teslas explode when wet.”. Put your social media to private and only invite people you can trust implicitly. Try to disconnect from online social media as much as you can while still being able to get information on current events. Disable location tracking on all your electronic devices if you can.

Have a Go-Bag ready in your house. That’s $100 in small bills and change, four pair of wooly socks, a good set of boots you can walk comfortably in, 2 pairs of nondescript track-pants, 2 pair of heavy, hooded jackets, 3 warm shirts, 2 scarves or beanies, 4 pair of underwear, a burner phone with all your necessary contact info pre-loaded, a box of ibuprofen, a torch, toothbrush and tooth-paste and a disposable pack of razors and sanitary goods. If things go down in certain areas, you want to book it fast and clean.

Go for rough-looking or battered clothes that look dirty and have been patched, nobody is looking for the bum, they’re looking for a ‘person’, and homeless people generally get left alone if they’re not anywhere near a business district or begging for money.

And most importantly, do not scatter into small, mutually exclusive groups. This is very much a predator/prey scenario, there is safety and weight in numbers and despite our differences, the only way we make it through the next four years is a united front against the weaponized ignorance and hatred coming at us all.

You should probably stop posting on the forums. Actually should probably not use the internet at all. In fact you should probably not have any electronics in your home or on your person. Never know who’s listening. <.<

I’m feeling very good about the brand new department of global embarrassment.

I’m actually happy to hear this. I loved Anne Rice’s vampire books in middle school (though not all of them were winners or aged particularly well). The OG story has the potential to nab a lot of Hannibal fans floating around aimlessly since it was cancelled.
