Wyrmest Lounge Thread

We haven’t had a proper lounge thread in a while. Certainly think we could all use a place to come to chill out and relax. So how have you folks been? Has things been well for you all? I just hope all you are doing alright.

Personally I been enjoying this expansion and life’s been good. Certainly could be worse. Excited for halloween. Always nice to get into spooky season even though Christmas encroaches upon it every single year. Seriously the christmas stuff was out before the halloween goodies this year, that’s just frustrating.

Some songs I’ve been jamming out to lately. This song is :fire:

Today’s been a good day. Had my 3 month check up on my A1C. Down 10 lbs without changing my diet in any way, and I’m at a 7.6 (Upper “normal” is 6) for my A1C, which is bloody fantastic considering I started the year in February at a 9.9.

Yesterday while I was on a call, my dog jumped from the couch to the dining table and got into the Halloween candy, most of which was chocolate. He’s a corgi and on the smaller size, no more than 28lbs and I was both extremely upset but kinda impressed this little dog got air and made it to the table.

Anyway, I had to call poison control :upside_down_face:

I immediately caught him and was able to induce vomiting and spent most of the day in and outside because he was puking a lot. Yah, you dummy, that’s what happens when you eat that much candy. He’s doing a lot better today, he had his first full meal about an hour ago and immediately he got zoomies and brought me his favourite toy so I think he’ll be alright.

Glad your dog is alright!! I worry about our cats sometimes when they try to get into things, but thankfully they’ve never gotten into anything serious.

I was absolutely distressed in the moment but so glad he’s okay now :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I grew up with big dogs and have the habit of keeping things put away because of the threat of table surfers. However, I have become weak and underestimated this little dog’s power.

I’m also glad he didn’t hurt himself jumping from the couch to the table. The table had some framed art I been meaning to put up and that was his landing pad, the glass is totally shattered. His feet are okay but oh my god little dog.

I settled a $300,000.00 case recently so I’m still really happy about that.

I love Fall and one day want to turn my stairs and front porch into a spooky witch’s hut that trick-or-treat kids need to ascend into to get their candy. I want blacklights, fog machines, spooky Warcraft playlist music in the background, and a “bubbling” cauldron at the end for them to pull out candy.

I also don’t have the $1000 on hand to throw at what would a building project used only once a year, so alas. Need to do seasonal winter prep and have a furnace guy come out for maintenance instead.

Just wait till I have more disposable income, kiddos. I’m gonna be the best Halloween house in the neighborhood.

Anyway, that’s my mood at the moment. I’ll whip up the Dollar Store budget version of my idea for trick-or-treaters this year. I also want to dress as much as I can like Winifred Sanderson and channel my inner Bette Midler gremlin.

I ate a Draenei that got lost looking for some kinda Brawlpub down in the tram last night, total myth I told him…right before I sprung my trap. Fresh bones for me and the rats to play with!

You could make this for well under a grand. Maybe a couple hundred dollars.

I bought a bunch of very large cemetery statues and a giant crow from Home Depot this year. I’ve been rocking a little graveyard with those tiny, plastic headstones that stick in the ground with metal rods for way too many years. I think the total on my purchase was $360.00 including tax. Right now, they’re in my spare bedroom (which I could paint some shade of void purple for a goth look).

Given your name I can see how you feel about doing this you frightful diminuitive creature. Still it is nice to see a community sharing a meal together! (Even if that community is a gnome and some rats…)

Where I live it’s mostly old folks out in the country so no trick or treaters. I decorate for myself. Also, inside decorations. Lotta dogs run around out here who will absolutely love to chew on random things just laying out in the yard. Gotta keep the garage locked up tight so they don’t weasel their way in there and hurt themselves. Hope that one day you will be able to fulfill that dream though!

Very Nice.

One of my favorite channels on Youtube is Technology Connections. He talks about all sorts of interesting stuff, including some very obscure topics. He just put out a video about MP3 CDs and It’s fantastic.

those styrofoam ones are the worst. I invested in a couple of the plastic ones myself too a few years back

I could. Downside is perfectionist me would want to go all out, which is why we’ll slowly build it up starting with the Dollar Store iteration this year. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I have a vision!

I used to love decorating for Halloween! I worked in a small gift store in my hometown and we’d go all out for Halloween and Christmas. The owner would let me do the window and in store display. One year she gave me a saw, a very large (15 ft) tree limb, lights and several cans of black spray paint and told me to have fun.

Anyway, I was out sick yesterday and finally got to play a little WoW. Leveled Kina a little. I just took the day off from everything. No school - I finally went back to school this semester to finish my degree. Going online and taking 9 hours. 2 courses are awesome, one not so much. Such is live though. I finished two projects this week, and one midterm. I have another midterm due by tomorrow. And we’re moving in a week… so I there’s a lot of stuff I should have done yesterday. But I just needed a mental break I guess. It felt good.

Haha it didn’t at my house! Last Thursday my house was super cold in the morning, so I thought I’d blast the heat for a minute. My thermostat had other ideas. It’s a Nest (don’t ever buy one of these awful things - they try to run constantly!) and the battery had died. So I ordered another battery on Amazon for delivery on Monday.

Except Monday was a holiday for USPS. So delivery Tuesday, right? Nope. And not yesterday and not today. I dug out a space heater on Tuesday, but getting up in an icy house is miserable.

I enjoy the cold weather. I like my house to be around 67°. I wish it could stay like this all year. I have to find a place to live where it never goes above 70 or below 50.

Oh I like the chilly weather too. Warm drinks and hot soups let’s gooooooooo!!!

I made a potato cream soup the other day :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Personally not a fan of the chilly weather myself or the increased heating bills it often brings. Know we need it though, it is fall after-all and winter will be upon us before we know it.

Personally haven’t had the greatest of days so far but it’s not anything I feel l ike I could really talk about here much. AT least now I got a bit of time to try to destress and move on from it. At least for today.
