We have two dead talents very early on in the WW tree. And that bottom row is a mess. I genuinely don’t know if we’re even going to aim for the Covenant talents, both of which (imo) were bad calls for WW. The bottom of the middle column is bloated and could be condensed to have two or three talents less. Not to mention the odd return of Hit Combo, and that DoCJ is staying more or less the same despite notable issues that arise.
I bring up PvP to show how strong DoCJ is. You literally have an effect that amps an AoE ability so hard that it deletes people in ST. And it’s nerfed in PvP.
In what regard? I’ve explained my reasoning very clearly.
No, I’m not. We have 5 points left to spend on our WW tree. I’m pretty confident that in many scenarios, we’ll be grabbing Invoker’s Delight, Thunderfist, and TTP. That leaves 2 talents points left. Unless you specifically build for those Covenant abilities, that doesn’t leave a lot of room to get them. And that’s if they’re even good. BDB gets carried by the leggo on live, and I’ve only seen like 2 NF WWs this entire xpac. Though, I suppose we’ll have to see how further tuning goes in regards to how strong the are.
Personally, I wouldn’t have carried over any of our Covenant abilities into DF. They were just different flavors of things we had before. Fusing them with some stuff we have would have been more interesting, and it would have saved space.
I literally saw you panic ask this on discord 5 seconds ago and you were told that both DBD and FLS will definitely be choices you can take.
DBD is still preforming incredibly well on beta (more so after the hotfix to everything else being nerfed) and FLS is definitely a potent ST increase. Both of these can easily still be taken without dropping stuff like XBG for example.
I was able to get both FLS and FLH comfortably with 2 points leftover and this was still with taking talents like DoCJ.
BDB is a little tighter but still accessible without dropping anything crazy.
I asked because I don’t have beta and didn’t get to test them out, so I’m basing their strength on how they are on live, but weaker. The answer I got was that they were options.
But the big question that remains, is will they be worth it? FLS/FLH is definitely more accessible than BDB, but it still has to compete with the middle row as well as the added APM of FLS.
For the most part I’m not. We’ve got 5 more talent points to pick from. One or two of those talents are probably going to “highly recommended” picks. We can build towards FLS/BDB, but whether or not we do comes down to tuning and math. Therefore, I lean towards stuff we’ve had in the past and stronger passives, which also builds away from FLS and BDB.
TTP, Invoker’s, Thunderfist, maybe Skyreach, maybe Xuen’s Bond into Last Emperor’s Capacitor. I definitely want to see AoE ToD vs BDB.
No we went from talking about MotC vs DoCJ and which one is “worse,” and you gradually deflected the conversation to this.
This is some next level anxiety of being proved wrong its sad. You don’t have beta you have no clue what you are talking about and now you are trying to use what you were told on discord the wrong way.
Invokers out of everything you listed here is the only mandatory talent for both FLS and DBD. Thunderfist is w/e in m+ outside of niche funnel targets XB is very weak, EC is useless with current CJL tuning and you can easily run both BdB and AoE ToD.
How am I using what I was told on disc the wrong way? The response was literally “FLS is used in ST builds and bdb can be used for some builds in aoe. Neither are great but can be decent last options.”
First off, I’m sad to hear that EC isn’t doing well. It was fun to actually use CJL back in Legion. Kinda makes shuffling its position in the tree rather pointless.
Second, and I probably should said this far earlier (genuinely I apologize for not being clear at the start), I’m thinking from the perspective of a generalist/well rounded tree. Of course we probably build towards the Covenant abilities if we’re min maxing.
I am also sad EC is kinda meh. It will be extremely niche depending on boss mechanics so it could see potential play but overall CJL is just too weak.
Same. I am generally worried about the direction the spec is heading for AoE. The good news is tuning is far far from over so we will see. FLS and DBD could very well end up not being used. It’s heavily going to depend on what other choices end up getting buffed/nerfed, but current tuning on beta they see a lot of play.
As do I. I dislike the RNG of DoCJ, and my opinion of MotC has decreased since pre-patch since SBT makes managing it very easy now. I have high hopes for TTP because I like XBG fast reset on FoF play style for AoE. Though, it sucks mega balls that XBG took one to the chin. Hopefully the SBT cleaves build TTP stacks.
Haven’t toyed around with it yet, but WDP did just get a bit more negotiable.
Yeah I don’t think your sarcasm is needed so I’m going to report you and hope others also do the same so you get banded and don’t derail conversations about monks and their difficulties.
This monk is only 12 hours old, I have no legendaries and literally 12 hours of experience as a boosted level 60. I am beating 300 ilevel players post nerf in keys. I don’t know what it was like before the nerf or how the nerfs effected pvp so I have no comment on that but boy does this class do damage nerf or not.
besides saying you are a lier… we can just say you exaggerate the truth. Mr. has the over 9000’s achievement showing you’ve played since at least BC. And your boost is over 12 months old…
Are you liking your own posts? I literally boosted this guy with the dragonflight purchase lol. What logs? My friends carried me through keys. Look at my raider io history. As of tonight I have 14 hours played total ever all time. I never played a monk ever and have been playing the game since vanilla. I have no reason to lie. If I were you, my angle would be that I have no experience to judge off of 14 hours lol. What a bizarre individual…
Those are global achievements. This isn’t my first character Learn to read. This character was created on 10/24/22 that’s last week. If you go through my io page (which isn’t hidden like your information, interesting!) you can see what gear I was or wasn’t wearing in each key I completed. Being that the character is brand new it won’t take you long to look through the keys I’ve done so far.
Oh and I crafted a legendary tonight before doing a key (a unity on my belt) and I’m even more powerful then before!
