Augmentation is one of the worst classes in the game in pvp atm. I may have seen 2 augmentation evokers all season at the most.

Go to Drustvar and look up representation of classes in pvp. The only class played less than augmentation evoker is frost DK, rofl.

I dont know if this factors in but some classes are NOT as fun as others to play…

Class/talent changes etc, some might dislike a class for another based on fun factor.

So a better way is to look at representation while also considering a spec’s overall popularity. The ideal expectation would be that 2 classes of equal strength would have a similar ratio. Now we still can’t just look at this and draw a definitive conclusion, as there are other factors that may cause a spec to be higher or lower other than raw strength. Spec difficulty and, similarly, skill floor/ceiling are just what immediately comes to mind.

This is data from solo shuffle that I just gathered from check-pvp. Normally I’d also filter through and gather the amount above 1600, but there are far more dps than healers, so I don’t want to spend that time. Sorted by the ratio of players of a spec to reach 2100 compared to their overall population above 1000 rating, and color coded red for melee and blue for ranged.

From my experiences healing solo shuffle, most casters just don’t know how to play.

Like spriests and locks trying to kite melee. Literally just stand in the middle of the map triangle formation it up and pve them. Run towards your healer to pull out their healer for cc chains. Not a hard concept

I am usually the only caster in the solo shuffle lobby its always full melee. It would be nice to not have to deal with two warriors at once or two DH/DK at once but that’s season 3 in a nut shell.

Melee is more popular, casters are more represented as a ratio of their popularity.

I’m mostly shocked that they managed to make rogues unpopular. That’s impressive considering assassins are often a very popular archetype.
