Wtb the return of twinks

Yeah, the talking points keep getting shuffled around, but now and then they slip up and mention things like consumables.

Most Consumables typically have lengthy (and often shared) CDs and short durations. That’s something you have to think about in regards to anything more than just a single short fight.

you are why players don’t like twinks…

Yup they should

So basically don’t use Battlegrounds to lvl at all cause of twinks.

You know what i love about Twinks? They’re self counter-productive.

“Oh i want all the lowbies in here, so merge the ques together. Also, don’t play Battlegrounds if you don’t want to deal with twinks.” And they all wonder where all the people go. I have no pity for them. :champagne:

Becides, if all you ever wanted to do is just kill low level players to make yourself look good, just turn on Warmode and have at it hoss. No need to wait for anything.

Sorry Mog/Achievement/Mount/Toy runners, Raid Twinks, Pet battlers, Project 60, 70, 80 people, people who does ironman challenges, People who are currently leveling and other people who goes back and experience the content back when it was new. You didn’t take notice of the expansions of past.

Like Zoinks Scoob. You just keep digging that grave for those twinks, don’t ya?

:raised_back_of_hand:

I done it a lot on my heirlooms to literally power though questing.

I thought they did? Didn’t they make it so now Twinks are only in BGS with other Twinks? Sounds like a fix!

That doesn’t matter. Most people are just doing pre-120 BGs to level casually and/or to take a break from questing. Most people don’t bother with the enchants, especially since there is a good chance they will be replacing said enchanted gear in a level or two. They aren’t doing BGs to play competitively, nor are they doing them to get steamrolled.

The needs of the many > the needs of the few. You’re the few. If you want to suggest a way for both sides to be satisfied, then go ahead. Others have already suggested that you beat the queue by collaborating with other twinks to plan out games ahead of time.

I remember back in Wrath, I’d participated a lot in BGs and wanted to level a hunter. Heirlooms weren’t as common but I had enough honor to buy the couple of PvP heirlooms and figured I’d be competitive in lower level brackets.

Boy, was I wrong. We hit a team of twinks, I definitely got some shots off but couldn’t even damage them (I had 0 damage done). Meanwhile they were cleaving through our group, the one I tried to fight would 1-shot 2-3 players at a time. I quit the BG and didn’t play another low level BG until they took them out from the regular queues.

Twinking can’t exist like it once did. For many it was just a way to farm HKs. Bliz offers you the ability to organize events with other level appropriate twinks or to make a slow leveling character that progresses through BGs. Old style twinking is dead and the vast majority of players are thankful that it is.

*your opinion

Correct. There are 2 types of twinks: Positive and Negative.

Positive twinks engage in the playstyle because they want to preserve the content to which they stick to. For example, they will lock their level to 70 and stick to TBC content because that’s what they enjoyed most. Or they just prefer the rotations at that point.

Negative twinks are those who engage in the playstyle for all the reasons the stereotypes have projected all these years. They just want to “pwn noobs.” Most of these people tend not to be very good at PVP in general thus need the edge of engaging in PVP against new players or rerolls who are trying to learn their class/rotation instead of engaging at max level where you’ll find people who’ve mastered their class.

These people are usually very easy to identify because 1) they will reject any fix that does not involve them having direct access to levelers 2) they tend to have mildly to very angry dispositions 3) while engaging in PVP against said levelers, will use fad statements such as “git gud” or “l2p” and criticize levelers for not going beyond the norm for gearing themselves while leveling yet these same hypocritical people do this very thing at max level while using excuses such as “end game is boring” and their excuses are “acceptable.”

There may have been many people who engaged in twinking but bouncing off what you said, there were just not enough Positive ones.

No (s)he isn’t. If I give you a parachute for your plane jump and you make the decision not to use it, that’s a YOU problem, not a defective parachute.

Not all of them, just the unfortunate Negative participants. I’ve spoken to several from both sides and it’s like night and day the difference.

Yes it is and I can’t wait! One thing that I used to do in vanilla was troll Negative twinks. Mounts were not available until level 40 and Shaman got access to Ghost Wolf at 20. I’d enter a BG as level 20 and level 29 Negative twinks would look for the lowest leveled people on the opposite team and stick to them like flies to :poop:. I’d literally run around the entire perimeter of the BG while they would chase me spamming emotes like /spit. This was slightly immature but also a good distraction tactic. I would always have at least 2 twinks (sometimes 3-4) chasing me while my team capped their flags.

to late i doubt they will change it back now.if you want to twink your going to have to play classic wow.

I’d rather them not return, that term needs to die and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to go on google images and type in that term. Good luck soldiers.

OP ITT: Twinking is great, if you don’t agree, your opinion is invalid. Also I made a discussion thread, but you’re not allowed to disagree with me.

Twinking needed to die. In the forums, it was this grandiose show of twinking to fight twinks. Ingame, it was to graveyard camp people for 15min without capping flag just to be annoying.

You want my opinion on twinking? It’s frustrated people who’ve never done real pvp at max level, or got kicked out of groups because they had zero map awareness and didn’t know how to cc or dps or heal well. Basically subpar pvpers who wanted an avenue to blow people up.

So they stopped their xp gain, spent inordinate amounts of gold farming threshold lvl bis gear, and got mad because you decided to level through bgs.

You know what’s not fair, twinkers? Stopping your xp gain. You complain that levelers don’t obtain the best gear and it’s their fault. Why don’t you turn on your xp then?

Hypocrite, much?

Aside from a few, the majority of the ‘great twinking community’ are just hypocrites.

You won’t find any sympathy in the pvp forums, you’ll neither find sympathy here.

While your description of Negative twinks is pretty spot-on, some people do find shreds of solace in the PVP forum. There are still some Negative twinks who still post there and will piggyback off one another talking about how unfair separation is and how levelers just need to stop being lazy and not entering BGs with the normal progression gear they’re given.

I have had a twink before, when I was in a PvP guild; a Forsaken warlock that I played in the level 29, 39, and 49 brackets for a time in each one. However, there wasn’t much that I learned after playing him for most of an expansion that I didn’t already know before creating him…so suggesting players whom have never played one are clueless on the subject is the height of self-deceptive arrogance.

If true, then you and those other “great players” were as rare as the Dodo bird. A scant few of the guild members I ran with on that twink were ‘honorable’ PvPrs. Most of them had no problem with GY camping and ganking.

That is a ridiculous proposition, because anyone that HAS ‘twinked’ knows it takes a particular effort to get the right gear to compete in that category of game-play. Someone that is ‘leveling through’ neither wants to, nor should have to, acquire the best level-appropriate gear or enchants just to survive in a level range they will quickly be beyond.

There is really only one reason to twink; to have the power to step on your opponents neck in crude triumph, make their time playing a frustrating misery, and feel a cruel satisfaction out of doing so. That is why I quit participating in it, and in that PvP guild, because of that very…

…and yes, I’m going to apply that over-used word…

…toxicity.

Fun times? Not for the non twinks.

Now yes there are people who love to twink and would be glad to go up against other twinks. However they became but a small percentage of twinks while the larger percentage just did it cause they’re not good at PvP.

Correct. There are a lot of Positive twinks however, due to the allure twinking has because you can simply buy a bunch of stuff off the AH that are better than even heirlooms and dive into a game against levelers, it attracts “those people.”

@ OP you are expected to gear up prior to bgs at 120 or you get roflstomped. If you gear up before level 120 for bgs you are twink scum who must be removed from the general population.

My 120 was around ilvl 280 when they dinged. Guess how much fun bgs were?

You get reasonable gear as the norm while you level. There are “those people” who expect people to overgear out of the norm. I saw a couple people with halted XP who have several forged pieces they got. It’s not reasonable to expect the average leveler to aim for stuff like that while they’re just trying to level up.

But it becomes reasonable when you hit 120 to invest in your toon for normal battlegrounds? Why the exception for one and damnation for the other?
