If it’s so big, why do you need to queue with levelers? The problem is that they tend to group with other twinks, magnifying the advantage.
I’m not at all against their return so long as gear power is normalized.

Me neither, lets hope it happens. Many levelers seem to be against any sort of compromise. A stat template edition option for exp off would normalize gear. its way better than what we have now.
As an alternative to templates I would suggest they normalize gear to the same ilvl and change the scaling on enchantments in leveling instances. That way people can customize their characters without having too much of an advantage. Seems like a win-win.
EDIT: I mean gear to the same stat level, so people in greens wouldn’t be at a disadvantage compared to people in purples.
I love that philosophy. By that rationale, if I know nothing about the techniques of cgi, I can’t comment on the quality of a film. If I’m not a writer, I can’t critique how well a novel reads. Silly thing there ya said, OP.
Just curious - you say you twinked because of a poor computer. What difference is there performance-wise between doing normal pvp and twinking? Does it somehow work better if you are twinking?
Twinking has not been removed. You can still twink. Queue up that toon with its experience turned off and if there are enough people after the same thing, you will get a bg.
So you are saying that only people who think and play the way you do should be able to participate in a major aspect of the game? I can’t use bad words so I can only say, that’s dookin dookus.
Here’s the thing - if you want to make and collect the best gear for your lower level toon and go into a bg, you still can. You will probably do very well. But admit to yourself the reason you like to twink - as you say, ‘have a look at yourself’. Blizzard restricted it for a reason, to create a fair and even playing field. You can still play the way you want to, all twinks can. If they don’t, its because whatever fun they got from doing it isn’t fun when they are simply fighting other twinks.
On a daily basis, but not in twink bg’s
That isn’t true, its only partly true. Many twinks like myself stopped playing because the twink bg ques are so bad. Overgeneralizations of how all twinks just prey on the levelers is not the full truth. I am trying to come up with a compromise that has the greatest appeal.
The greatest appeal to the greatest amount of players it’s that twinks are gone from XP on pvp. Just like it is now.
Problem solved.
I will just say this. I guarantee the levelers would throw their computers across the room if they logged in to lvling ques that were 4 hours long, and on top of that only got 50 exp per bg they did. they would cry pretty hardcore, asking blizz to change it back blizz, waaaah. Not all would, but good lord. I just wanna pvp with realistic ques. A stat template option for exp off would be a great feature. Some people on these forums are so closed minded its hilarious.
Sorry you don’t get to face roll normal players anymore.
No I’m not.
Given how wonky and variable some of the power availability is in this game (mostly costly and or time consuming to obtain), it is good they have tried to keep XP on and XP off separated.
As far as certain level bands not getting BG pops, that is due to a lack of player participation - not much can be done if there is not enough player interest.
Also over-powered characters in leveling BGs will never fully go away unless they force stat templates - I’ve created over-powered characters in the past and never turned XP off.
For example there have been stupid over-powered engineering items (bombs, rocket trinket, bolt gun), stupid over-powered enchants (resilience, crazy combat scaling at low levels, rep shoulder enchants, leg armor applied by high level), stupid over-powered next expansion gear (BC gear with sockets, Cata greens, Cata dungeon gear, MoP blues, etc), as well as just inverted power scaling (110s with Legion end game gear), etc.
If Blizzard is serious about keeping leveling BGs reasonably close, they will stop adding stuff that allows over-powered characters to exist, and never do another expansion with an inverted power curve like BfA.
And why are they so bad? I can only assume that a long queue time means that not many people are joining a queue, especially given the larger numbers required for a battleground.
You say its an overgeneralisation - ok, then why did you do it? Other than the supposed better gaming on your old computer (which I do not understand) why did you personally like to twink at the 9 levels? You said in your post that you like to do pvp - you can still do pvp. You said you liked to gear up your toons to make them better - you can still do that, there are numerous items still available throughout the game that will make your toon better geared than the typical bg player.
Thing is, I did a bit of twinking prior to the change. I did it because I was working on my Prestige levels, I almost had the first Prestige mount so I did it as a way of getting more honour points. I knew I was killing more characters that way than I was in normal battlegrounds. And y’know what - I didn’t particular like that feeling. Not because it felt like cheating, but because I felt just superior to those poor noobs I was slaughtering. I didn’t like that feeling in me. Call me a wuss or a softie, but there you go. So I turned my experience back on and just relied on my inate abilities, win or lose. Much more fun that way, for me.
templates still let twinks roll levelers though which is why you’re pushing for that and not normalization. if you’re wearing purples you’d be “better geared” even with the templates compared to someone in full questing greens. you want to stay at level 29 forever and not be even a tiny bit more powerful than a leveling toon? i can work with that. but as far as templates? no sir.
Oh, but I do. It’s called being lvl 120.
a level 120 rogue can’t one shot coming out of stealth. it’s more balanced at max level even with the gear disparities. and i say this as someone who has 13 level 120 toons so i’ve taken quite a few fresh 120s into bgs throughout this expansion thus far.

I wouldn’t even bother anymore. These people aren’t looking for an honest discussion. They cry and whine about not being able to q with their twinks, when they absolutely can. Just turn XP on. The only problem with that is they don’t want XP on because then they can’t faceroll anymore. If it was just about being able to PVP as they say, they could do that at any time. They want to PVP when they have absolutely every advantage they can.
real twinking happens at 120 anyway. but you have to grind every season. lol. it just seems like laziness to me to want to stay OP forever with very minimal investment compared to how long it took you to get that powerful gear.
I mean- won’t they be more viable in Classic anyway? Rather than twinking now, I’d rather do it there.
Thats exactly what these twinks want though. No effort, no work. They want to faceroll with the least amount of effort put in. If they twinked at 120 they’d actually have to do something, and it wouldn’t be such a huge difference between them and the normal players. They don’t want honest competition like they say, they want to smash people who can’t really put up a fight.
Against a fresh 120 I can.
but how is that fun though? my main is a warlock and hasn’t been very good in pvp so far this expansion and i pvp on him because it’s so much more fun to get a kill than on my outlaw rogue who i barely can play but who legit facerolls people despite that fact. my rogue barely has any hks in comparison. idk just doesn’t seem fun to me.
