Tirion didnt need a therapy session after every quest for killing 8 kobolds. The dialogue and characters are SO LAME and will never be pure kino like Tirion again.
Grizzled old paladin who has a compelling backstory about honor and doing the right thing at the cost of great personal sacrifice is infinitely cooler than the new diversity hire we are supposed to love and respect despite knowing for a total of 30 minutes. But go off about the wacisms sis
This has been wow writing for a long time.
Not excusing TWW, but it’s gone on for so many years people need to accept this is what WoW is.
You sir, need the light!
Fear not young OP, I will call down the light of hope and save you from the darkness within!
…
Tirion was barely in questing, he was a talking head. Tirion also had to go through his own losing the Light story but Tirion’s was far far worse written.
I dunno about that. I’m an adult with a job and a car and a credit rating and friends and family and a pretty normal emotional life, and I like the story. I don’t think it’s a great look to turn someone’s story preferences into some kind of referendum on whether they’re mature. In fact, I bet some people think it’s lacking maturity to frame things in that way.
Like, talk to the devs about their story. Don’t talk to me. I didn’t ask you anything.
There are no therapists in WoW, no matter how hard you imagine they are.
Your issues with feelings is a you thing, and people who like the story in TWW are fine.
Nah. There are levels to this and modern WoW has gotten exceedingly corny.
Just prepping people so that they arent shocked when they have to buy another expansion so soon. Also, said quickly releasing expansion will have a paid EA. $$$
Man I really wish we weren’t just incense burning hippies amirite fellow shaman
I dunno if corny is the right word for how Df was. It all just felt so…blargh? Nothing had any real buildup or tension to it and just sorta happened. I think coupled with pretty meh voice acting and the whole tone of the expansion being like a vacation made it feel like, why the heck am i even here? One of the more baffling things was the halls of infusion “reveal” that the dragons had magic water! You could tell it was supposed to be a big deal but even vyranoth gets over it over the course of a whole 2 cutscenes. Its hard to get into a story that doesn’t even seem interested in itself. Whereas its easy to get hyped when the actors actually seem to be having fun.
I haven’t completed the main story yet… But man all the quests in the zones have been superb.
Tirion has a beloved questline in vanilla. Also one of the og warcraft books is about him and etrigg and it is lightyears ahead of anything the current squad of hack writers could ever create. Youre delusional
Way to not understand my post at all. Dont respond to me again btw.
Bro the Magni scene when he becomes flesh again. A new earthen dwarf awakens, which is pretty much a machine with programming to defend the coreway
New earthen: Who am I?
Magni: Whoever you want to be
I cringed. Was like Magni, it’s pretty much a machine lmao. My god dude lmfao.
Reading threads like these, I assume the player base of WoW prefers other literary sources like Proust, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, James Joyce and William Faulkner.
I like that story! Been awhile since i’ve read it but its pretty good. I really like how Tirion, despite having seen the horrors the Horde inflicted upon the world was able to realize that not every Orc is like that, and was willing to help Eittrig out even if it meant throwing everything away due to the dogmatic beliefs of the people around him. Him realizing that something like faith in the light isn’t just believing in the church that says its the light, its believing in what you’re doing is right that grants you the ability is also pretty cool.
His Light loss story arc was bad, I don’t care about the rest of the book, he had somebody tell him he isn’t worthy of being a paladin so he was like ‘whelp, Light doesn’t like me anymore’ just to shortly after call upon it and be shocked he still can. It was a contrived struggle that was over as fast as it appeared.
I just laughed SO hard holy LOL. “danuser stone” sent me over the edge lmfaoooooo. +1 post
Yup the writing is lame
