WRA seems kind of well...dead for RP

squints
I wasn’t aware long necked cryptids were fans of mmos…

I have forbidden all RP. Day and night, I stalk up and down the streets of major cities with my gang of gnomes all named variations of “Ron Sullivan,” breaking up RP.

The people wisely hide in their homes, fearing my wrath.

That’s bullcrap. I’ve seen you logged in maybe twice this entire expansion. You’re not much of a wet blanket if you show up once in a blue moon.

:T

You can’t see rogues, you flan.

wra has one thing mg doesn’t have

and that’s xfaction.

mg is alliance. wra is neutral RP galore. it’s great.

There’s no doubt that WRA’s had a significant decline on allyside. I started RPing allyside in MoP and I still remember the glory days - a plethora of guilds with banners out, advertising themselves in the cathedral district. The inn’s in the Dwarven District, Old Town and Mage district full of people - the latter so full one tended to think it overcrowded. That sort of thing has objectively shrunk, no doubt about that.

But then, so has the WoW community in general. You’ll still find some degree of RP in Alliance WRA - You’ll never go wanting if you find a guild or look around, start something yourself.

But most important is this

Biggest reason I’ll never leave WRA (aside from the fact I’m a Horde main now lmao). We’re the best chance for crossfaction RP. You think WRA-Alliance is dead you should see MG-Horde. Might as well be a ghost town!

Well I’m late to this party and everyone else has said what I would have said, so it’s time.

Yes hello potential victim visitor! Stormwind rp not doing it for you? Then come to bright sunny DUSKWOOD! We have trees! We have Worgen! We have two different crime guilds! We have ghosts! So many ghosts! We’ve even got Night Elves sometimes! So come to Duskwood we’re a lot cooler than Stormwind come to Duskwood I promise we won’t steal your soul probably

that and like MG is very random walkup focused compared to WrA and always has been.

you can honestly feel the decline even in horde-side. orgrimmar is basically just trolls and oocers at this point, and silvermoon is very dead compared to previous expansion packs. competition from other MMOs and blizzard’s bad writing hit the RP community harder than any other community. i can count how many people i know who have ditched for XIV or ESO or Blade and Soul or whatever new thing is being peddled.

but if you find a guild you can find RP here quite easily. you just need a guild or need to attend events. that’s kinda how RP on WrA works now that the random walkup scene is becoming less desirable, either due to most of those people ditching for XIV or because of how the dregs of the RP community are allowed to breathe there or how it’s just rarely very satisfying.

basically while the RP community isn’t dead, it’s definitely smaller and you gotta adjust. it’s like the alliance pve community lol.

In my experience, it’s a fallacy that a capital city is a primary hub. As I’ve posted in so many threads, it’s not like the old days when you could stand outside a tavern and wait for someone else to invite you to RP. Events are the hubs, as far as my own experience goes. By which I mean the weekly taverns, markets, etc. Some of those happen in a capital, but a lot are elsewhere. They advertise here in the forum and in some of the other calendars, so it’s not like they’re hidden or private.

Yeah I don’t know what I’d do without the events I attended where it was three Alliance and 40 Horde. They were really uh… enriching.

I see you have posted on an Alliance character, and therein lies your issue.

WrA is far more populous Horde-side. Don’t give up, however. The more folks stick with Alliance RP, the less imbalance we’ll eventually have.

This is such a weird response lmao

I just like making Sare cranky because they know they’re right anyway.

It’s tough being Alliance on WrA but our dedicated Alliance people deserve our support.

you’re kinda not wrong, even xfaction is dominated by horde most of the time.

but it’s still an option at all and that’s what i like about WrA. i’ve stopped doing walkup and simply just go to events a few times a month for RP, and that’s good enough for me.
