WQ ilvl 400 gear

Now you are seeing the real problem. You don’t get the 400 ilevel gear WQ until you get really close to ilevel 400. This is called the rich get richer.

ilvl 392 is when i got mine its weird the way it works.

Good lies. How many embassies did you do after this post?

You have at least 4 items equipped that were given to you from embassies that were base level 385.

Care to rethink your initial statement?

blizzard already moved on from that 8.1 raid. CoS is the current… and is the reason why WQ now drop 395 gear as the blizzard bluepost specifically states:

So arguing that heroic gear from BoD is 400 is invalid when Crucible is already out and drops gear higher than 400 (up to 420).

Also you have to keep in mind that WoW caters to all players of many playstyles, not everyone raids… some players only do dungeons, some raid only, some pvp only, some do quests only, etc… and for those who only focus hard on one, raid, pvp, and M+ still offers the highest ilvl rewards at mythic/elite/+15 and higher levels that no world request reward can compete with.

I’m amazed at this. What a trivial reason to give up raiding, because it is possible to catch up and raid. You think people who want to raid should only get obsolete gear that will never get them into anyone’s raid.

Bizarre.

So the issue is that CoS is not a new season, it’s an individual raid with only 2 bosses and a very limited drop pool. Combined with the fact that all of the drops are highly gimmicky (the Polearm doesn’t even have secondary stats) makes BoD still current as far as raiding and gear is concerned.

Also just to point out, the blue post that mentioned the increase was entirely disingenuous.

"Similar to Battle of Dazar’alor, you will need an average item level of 350 to queue for it. To help ensure players get raid ready, we are increasing the maximum item level for certain World Quests rewards."

If this was their intention, and their reasoning as described then why was the scaling not changed?
They in no way made it easier to reach 350 ilvl to be able to queue for the content, the only thing they did was change the end point of the rewards.

Considering that the rewards were increased to 395 and 400, they didn’t even “ensure players get raid ready” at all because these values are both equal to or higher than drops from normal CoS as it stands.

Emissaries drop 395 normal gear and 400 Azerite armor max.

because we have idiotic gear progression from destiny where new gear level cap increase with your ilvl getting higher.

I don’t believe that’s a metric Blizzard uses as a metric for success. The way things are going seems more to support the time played metric.

regardless of this… 8.2 will have a full raid… so when that too comes along any argument about 410 wq gear is pointless when the full raid fill of gear will far exceed that (up to 445 baseline for azshara’s eternal palace).

Just the fact that 8.1.5 offers gear up to 430, and m+ drops higher gear that 400 as well, it’s sorta pointless to be complaining about world quest catch up rewards for non-raiders

No one was speaking about 430 gear as far as I was aware?
The topic was about the current season of rewards.

Edit:
Just to address your update, 445 for Mythic rewards. So again, through the WQ system you can get heroic raid equivalent gear, this time before 8.2.5 even.
Does that mean the 8.2.5 patch catch up will be 445 rewards?

It’s as much the direction and the design philosophy that is the worry as the actual system.
Soon you might as well have free vendors like tournament realms where you can just purchase the gear that you want.

Yes. It should be pretty pointless for others to be upset when these additions happen quicker than you can upgrade with them…especially WQ gear. Had one Azerite last week and haven’t seen a normal piece of Horde side in about 2 weeks.

We won’t. But I’m sure you consider casuals having any access to gear they must still work for a lot longer than you ever do to be “having free gear mailed to you”.

I find it odd, and perhaps unwittingly telling, that people like you insist on using the term “welfare gear.”

I’m sure he’s a world first raider on his third account.

But seriously, the mog alone…

Ah, the assumption game. I’m familiar with this one.

I guess you’ve forgotten writing this. Am I assuming too much when your avatar appears next to your name on this post?

The 400 emissaries are meant to supplement your gearing, not replace it. You have to get north of 390 before you see them, and by that time you will already have many 400s. It is meant to fill in the crack for what you may be missing.

That is vastly different to

Did I say that the current system is like having free gear mailed to you? Not at all.

two question what is the motivation for someone to clear a raid more then once if not for gear second why do you need to out gear all but one raid difficultly before entering the raid ?
