WQ ilvl 400 gear

My guess (based only on stuff I’ve read on these forums) is because groups won’t take you if you don’t out gear it.

That’s a pug problem mainly my advice would be to join a guild, in my experience most that are even semi serious will get you geared up rather quickly on farm bosses and what not if you show potential , or just inv you to alt night raids and what not.

Why, 400 ilevel gear is nothing. It’s now starter raid gear.

Thats a problem in and of itself. Normal Raiding is honestly negligible. It serves no purpose. You can learn mechanics in LFR where you dont need to form your own group, and Heroic is where those mechanics should start becoming a challenge for actual raiders. But thats not happening when you’re able to get heroic level gear without once stepping into the raid.

LFG lists become full of people that look like they are raid ready but actually dont know what the hell they’re doing. It sucks all around. If you have a 400 ilvl it should be because youve done 400 ilvl content. Most of that 400 ilvl content by the way can be done with and ilvl much lower than 400.

At the time of release, Mythic raids were not available and season 2 M+ rewards hadn’t been increased.
It was literally the highest base reward available for players and it was only available for half the player base.

It was problematic.

That’s because GD is given to exaggeration. Emissaries scale with your ilvl. You’ll get 400 when you get to 391.

Edit: or maybe it’s 394, I don’t remember.

Yeah im not seeing the issue with that. It was stuff people had to work to get. If youre not heroic raiding why would you need the 400 gear?

Do it for yourself… Don’t worry so much about the other guys

Finally someone who gets it. Folks brought this upon themselves asking for ridiculous high gear scores. Reap what sow comes to mind.

The reward was available from grouping up in 40 man raids and FP camping other players. I’m not sure that counts as “working” towards anything.

There is no way by any stretch of the imagination any reward should be equal to the highest available content whilst only a single faction has access to it.

Edit:

Chicken and the egg. Get inflated rewards for killing normal mobs and get inflated gear requirements to get into groups.

Pretty sure if your ilvl is between 385-400 and that was only available from normal and heroic raids (or equivalent difficulty M+)
People would reasonably be able to assume that you are competent or familiar with that level of difficulty content.

If you are able to the same ilvl from killing 12 sethrakk with 30k health in Vol’dun repeatedly, then people start to question whether you are confident with the content.

Literally everyone with a brain understood it was bad. Thats why the reward was lowered. The problem was the damage had already been done.

My point still stands. the gear you get should be appropriate for the level you play at. You shouldnt be able to get heroic level gear if youre not heroic raiding or doing +10s. Its whats contributed to this lack of visibility of a players skill which youve mentioned.

My apologies, I thought you were under the impression that I was of the opposite opinion.

I 100% agree, gear should be appropriate to the level you play at.

oooh i see what happened. when you said half the player base didnt have access to it i took it as “half the playerbase doesnt go to heroic raids”. completely forgot about the AOO quest.

This is exactly it. M0 drops 370 currently. N BoD drops 385. Nobody is going to invite someone to N BoD with a 375 ilvl, if they can even find someone running a Normal this late in the season.

Elitists kinda did this to themselves. Blizzard is, first and foremost, a business that wants to make money. And they can’t do that if 5% of players are seeing the main content. It’s been hammered into skulls that high-end content is partially made possible by lfr.

Even Warfronts have a minimum requirement (low though it may be).

New players and inexperienced players need a way in. This is it.

Get used to it.

And never forget that Blizzard (along with every other company) cares more about money than they do about your feelings.

im not understanding what that has to do with blizzard?

Blizzard is the one taking the money

People complain about “free gear”, but they forget that it’s necessary to get new players into the premier content.

Haha, yeah. It was about how the AoO quest was ridiculous on release.

That logic makes no sense. Blizzard has done their job in a spectacular manner. All content is available to any player who wishes to engage in it. Thats why LFR is a thing. You wanna raid but dont have a group and dont wanna pug? well theres the raid.

The other difficulties are there for the added challenge. It should remain a challenge. Blizzard doesnt need the majority of the playerbase to heroic raid; they make money as long as we play. We actually play less when the content is trivialized through fed loot because we blow through it and become tired of it faster.

Of course it does. People getting 400 gear for WQ after 6 months of grinding them deserve a reward. Blizzard has to cater to ALL of their players. That’s what people are not getting.

It’s also not close to being as big of a problem as some people like to pretend. I’m nowhere near “cutting edge” or BiS, but I defy you to find me the Armory of a “lfr hero” with better gear than me. Not higher ilvl, but better.

I’d actually love to see it, just so I can know it exists.

You literally read that first sentence and dismissed everything else i said… If you read it you’ll see i already disproved every one of your points.
