WoWhead ongoing censorship

I’m going to guess you know exactly why whatever post you made was deleted.

WoWhead makes it quite clear in their guidelines what can and can not be posted on their website. When a post is removed it’s most of the time, it’s done so with good reason.

Just go to a platform that agrees with your beliefs, like Parler. Oh wait…

Just put me on ignore if I hurt your feelings, you have the right to censor me here. Or acknowledge we actually have the same point of view. I really don’t care either way.

Agreed. They only say the private company line when it fits their agenda.

In Maury voice: Our detectives have determined that is a lie.

Their house, their rules whether you know them or not.

Not only Right-Wingers as you say cry foul of Censorship…censorship, like what Twitter, FB, et al do to shut up people who don’t think like them, is just a step down from state run (China, NoKo) censorship.

Private companies are protected under Section 230 passed in 1996. People can’t sue private tech companies, but Section 230 also gives them the right to censor anything they want. A lot of websites fall under that Section 230 or can claim they do to justify their removal of certain things.

Granted a place that is put there to help players play a game, like Wowhead, have the right and I think justifiably so to remove post comments that have nothing to do with the topic they are posted under. I have seen Phishing response posts on there before.

Big Tech censorship, in whatever form is a slippery slope we have been sent on, and I don’t see how to come back from it.

You do actually. Many people from all walks of life don’t trust or support thier countries governments in anyway shape or form. A person is not automatically aligned with the government of thier country of birth just because they were born there.

Here is what I wrote word for word involving this post:

There’s about a hundread characters I can think of that I’d want to visit Oribos than this Golden character

Do you believe it was done with good reason?

Can’t post offensive things?

This is fascism!

We all know they’re mad because their favorite president was justifiably banned.

They are within their rights to remove any comments they find unhelpful to the content. If you don’t like it, find a way of expressing yourself in a more constructive manner and take it up with them.

That could be changing… My state is currently considering a bill that would make sites civilly liable for censorship.

Yes cuz Section 230. That whole section needs to be changed.

Just here waiting for Orwellian, 1984, Fahrenheit to be used as evidence and examples.

People getting mad over the fact their troll posts and crap posting are being deleted must be the most sheltered people in existence

“But I wanna continue to spread hate! Stop oppressing me that’s communism/socialism!!!”

The guidelines are for you and not them. They help users of the forums stay within the lines, but sometimes even that doesn’t actually “stay within the lines” and the website company can remove content at their discretion.

oh to be so naive like you again.

I didn’t even know Wowhead had a posting community, outside of comments to help with quests and items.

Are people not allowed to post their grievances without it being called a “troll” post? How many times have you gone through with this with your topics?
