Has anyone else that frequent WoWhead notice the ongoing censorship of anything negative? Comments that are completely within their guidelines are simply deleted without any sort of explanation. I really don’t know where else to talk about this without it getting deleted.
This might be news to you, but websites are allowed to do whatever they want with your comments.
Blizzard constantly deletes things from these very forums.
It’s their right to remove comments they think are unacceptable. freedom of speech doesn’t apply to private websites or companies.
So what are the guidelines for if they can be ignored at any point?
Like Shimoneta but worse.
Private entities are not obligated to give you a platform. Their house, their rules.
Or, a mystery low level toon(like a level 10 Lightforged Draenei Paladin) replies with a troll post to discredit you from out of nowhere.
But they don’t follow their own rules.
Try 14 months.
And I thought I was cynical.
They’re there so they overall have to remove less, honestly, they reserve the right to remove anything they want on their platform.
So why they don’t update the guidelines if they want their platform to run this way? What is the point of having hidden rules?
Irrelevant. If you go in somebody’s house, they have absolute reign over how things go. You have the choice to play ball or leave.
They’re allowed to do that.
Just as you’re allowed to not utilize their services. A ToS is not legally binding.
So if they have a sign with rules on them in their house but suddenly kick you out for not following the rule that’s not written, that’s okay to you?
Yes, it is. You can accept it, or leave.
idk man. They don’t even have to apply you with written rules. It’s their website, they can do whatever they want with it.
Cant wait for the day when the real censorship hits. Cause when it does, it’s going to be hard hitting. As well will be in an area first that will seem unlikely.
I agree. We are, however, meant to hurt animals.
Because they’re delicious and they’re not people.
So what I’m getting from the replies is that rules do not matter at all and you must step on thin ice if you ever want to stay on a platform. I at least understand a little more. Thank you everyone.
