What does that have to do with what i said?
Please tell me you aren’t equating “being able to play as male bunnies” to diversity. lol
You mentioned changing things due to what the public finds offensive?
I’m not sure you know what PC means.
So what you’re saying is… When it comes to those two races WoW’s rather mediocre customization options are far superior (even the races with the least options, like tauren, can wear hats)?
I mean, if getting to their forums was more intuitive then they’d probably get more forum traffic. Having to go to the lodestone, then hover over the community button, not click it, and then find the forums link in the hover menu kind of makes it so the player who doesn’t know what they’re looking for is going to almost never find their way to the FFXIV forums.
Yeah, one of the things that got brought up in the mega thread a lot is how laughable it is that Allied races in WoW have more customization options than a “full” FFXIV race.
I want to go to SE and tell them I’ll work for free just to get them to have a website that doesn’t look like it came out of the early 00s.
A functional mobile version of their site wouldn’t hurt, either.
LOL what? and they added the male version because there was a female version from last expansion. that is good? Or did i miss something?
i don’t get your point?
This is highly disappointing. The races I was most interested in was tied between the viera and the hrothgar, especially with the other sexes being added in Endwalker. How can you not have something as basic as hats being wearable?
It is more puzzling considering that both races seem to be rather popular among the community, or at least as far as I’ve seen.
Because they have different skulls from the other races so the helmets and head pieces don’t readily fit their heads. They did say they would be adding more that they could wear over time, but after the 1st 500 or so, no more were added that I know of.
Also considering hats and hair are big in a game where the biggest carrot on a stick is fashion. Iconic Viera redmage? Well, no iconic red mage hat for you! Hrothgar got is even worse as glasses, one of the few head pieces the two can wear, float in front of their heads.
Naw, SE had said they were not going to add them. It was after community campaigning that we were able to convince SE to release m Viera and f Hrothgar. If there wasn’t enough outrage, it never would have happened. My only regret is this means that the whole package will still be lackluster for at least another expansion cycle.
Why would they fix the incomplete races when they just added the missing genders? Be grateful, peasants.
Several of WoW’s races have had to have the hat/helmet meshes warped to fit their heads, often to the point where it looks silly (worgen). They also made hats work on draenei whose horn options can look like/are in a similar placement to viera’s ears (female dreanei especially). And WoW’s devs are… particularly lazy when it comes to adding customization options. It seems like a gigantic oversight.
Hrothgar? Sure. Not Viera. Not going to rehash the mega threads of yore, but we’ve proven to the ends of the earth and back that the Viera skull is nearly identical to a Miqote.
Yep. Races suck in that game. Monster cosplay isn’t fun to me.
Pretty much the same take. It’s quite different from WoW because it is mostly cinematics with some fights in between. And I don’t care for the combat that much.
I do go back there to play with friends on occasion, but it’ll never be my primary MMO.
WOW generally use the “don’t really care approach” like eyebrow sticking out of your helm, or everyone going bald when wearing helmet.
That’s ridiculous. You’d think that would be one of the easier ones. Just cut some holes in the hat for ears…
I played it several years ago, and I had two main complaints. First, was the insane amount of dialog that I had to keep hitting the space bar for 10 minutes. I’ve heard that has changed somewhat, so that’s good.
Lallafel, or however you spell it, I cannot stand those little kids looking things. They’re annoying AF. And, this is coming from someone who absolutely loves gnomes. If I’m alliance, it’s go gnome or go home.
I’d like to try it again, but seriously those Lallafel…ugh. It’s similar to the hate I have for Paimon from Genshin Impact…and that fairy in Tirna Scithe who has that maze game. You can probably sense a pattern here. I can’t stand that stuff. lol
But, aside from that, I did really enjoy the game from what I played, and I may try it again. I also enjoyed the graphics, and the large amount of things to do. It seemed like it was designed for a player to become immersed in a world rather than min/max to do Mythic + all day.
Hey at least every playable race can wear hats. Though I agree the clipping and baldness is dumb on certain hat meshes, I’ve come to expect that level of laziness from Blizzard. Square Enix is another story.
They’ve started to just remove ears and horns off of races in 14 for a lot of the new hats
Here’s the thing though. Blizzard probably already has a pipeline for how to stretch and work new helmets to fit the odd skulls. In FFXIV it was going back and fixing thousands of helmets to fit that were already in the game.
Like I said though, they said they were going to add more as time went on then just never did. That’s what annoys me.
That’s fair, but do long bunny ears lay flat like short cat ears would? I don’t think so. So you’d have to redo the helmets to allow the ears to go through them. Unless you wanted to take the blizzard approach and just have the ears disappear completely for no apparent reason.
Now, how the circlets and things of that nature weren’t added already I don’t know, but hey I agree with you that it’s kind of dumb that they haven’t added in more helmets for those races yet.
