So I just purchased a wow token off the AH for 125k gold because I simply miss-clicked one button.
The interesting thing about this is when I got to my mailbox to simply resell it on the AH so its no big deal… I find out that you cannot resell it or get refunded in any way. So now im forced to consume that wow token or redeem a $15 store credit. The funny thing is that to buy a wow token it costs $20. So essentially i’m out $5 dollars for a miss-click if I want my gold back. I feel totally cheated and discouraged.
I have my subscription on a monthly recurring plan, which I keep active even when im taking an extended break from the game out of convenience. I have just unsubscribed, $5 is no big deal but the feeling of being cheated by a company and game I have been loyal to for many years is pretty bad feeling.
Blizzard you have just lost my recurring subscription over a $5 in game purchase scam loop which was not designed by mistake on your part. Now I will only subscribe after determining if I feel like playing for that additional month. Horrible strategy on your end. You need to make refunds possible for this or allow it to be redeemed for its full value so its no big deal.
Additionally making the wow token the first item which shows up on the AH with one click from a 125k purchase is reminiscent of all the AH scammers who try to post potions, enchants and other low value items for 100k gold hoping for miss-clicks.
Shame on you blizzard, you used to care about the players. Now all you care about is payers.
That sucks man, but I think the reason why they made it that way is so people cannot resell them on a website for cheaper than the store. It’s become a serious problem in EQ and EQ2 and done serious damage to the economy.
If this happened in WoW, you would see a MASSIVE influx of spammers and token sellers and prices on the AH would skyrocket beyond belief.
Hate to say it, but it needs to be exactly the way it is, HOWEVER, maybe they need to put a warning box up when you attempt to purchase one saying you cannot resell it. I’ve give you that.
First off, I can see where your coming from, it can seem quite jarring to have this type of thing happen and as someone has previously stated this is to keep people from selling these on websites not associated with Blizzard.
That being said…it is 100% your fault that you bought this token, Misclicks happen, but you are the one that Misclicked not Blizzard. Blaming Blizzard for your failing isn’t something that you’ll get sympathy on very easily, most will laugh at your situation, some will agree with you.
Blaming a function of the game that by now you should have full knowledge of how said system works only feeds into what im saying. This is NOT a new system, this is not something that isn’t easy to distinguish. GLHF finding other games to play, hope you decide that blizzard isnt to blame and you come back to enjoy 8.2…or not either or is your choice!
This is YOUR fault not blizz. There is no dubious Scam here. Sounds like maybe you had buyers remorse tried to re sell the thing and had 0 clue as how they work. These things don’t show up first. What addon are you using… you have to click wow token then it just shows up WITH the icon price and buyout in the CENTER of the frame… you sound like the scammer.
