I’m loving FF14 right now. It’s like they actually want you to have fun
And some people live in a perpetual state of “I am so morally correct, that I can never be morally wrong, therefor anyone that does not think or do the same as me, are thus morally wrong and evil.”
Rationalization is not bad, and quite frankly something we need more of in society nowadays. It is quite the endeavour to suddenly go in and edit hundreds of hours worth of text to accommendate a gender spectrum that goes from fluid to him, and that is without mentioning the hundreds of hours of voiced dialogue.
It’s fun. Though for me I feel like the combat is slower (as a healer / magic user). And dungeons are far more boring.
Though raid content looks interesting.
And some people live in straw houses with straw people. To each is our own, right?
EDIT: And no, we do not need more rationalizations. People trying to inappropriately explain things is not good.
You’re not alone. The combat overall is slower. But again, some people really enjoy this. Some people do not like the faster paced combat WoW has. Some people have disabilities, not as fast reflexes or are more laid back and slower-paced combat is much more tailored to them.
Rational
Based on or in accordance with reason or logic
Yes, it is certainly something we DO need. We especially need to be asking ourselves; “Is it rational for me to be upset about this?” Is it within reason to expect game developers, to now go in and change hundreds of hours of dialogue, written and voiced, while they are most likely already overworked, I mean, they are game developers AND japanese.
Rationalization is good and it can lead to good things.
I did, I sold m+ carries on the launch of Shadowlands. I’ve probably had a more impressive IO score than you’ve ever had just boosting people.
I post there a bit actually, they’re largely dead though because more people are playing the actual game or using discords. The WoW forums themselves aren’t even alive, it’s the same 20 people posting ad nauseum.
You mean you scraped for a few outliers and think these are in any way comparable or an argument. What do you want me to say? That pricks exist on both games? No duh. There’s just a higher concentration of them in WoW. I’ve been playing since late Heavensward and know how many toxic people I have met in XIV? I can count it on one hand and still have fingers remaining.
Know how many I’ve seen in WoW? More fricken people than I can even begin to remember the names of and hit that point in just a WEEK alone.
The only apology that needs to be given here is from whoever the hell supposedly taught you in school because your parents got screwed.
You did M+ in Shadowbringers and had an IO score?
So you were just making a joke earlier. My bad.
Outliers? Let’s not be dishonest here.
And there we have it. The personal attacks. Why do people resort to this when they lose a debate? You claim you didn’t see any issues on the FFXIV forums. This explains a lot.
Sorry, I misread what you had said, that was my bad, but I’ve done dungeons competent enough on both games to weigh in on this. They’re both easy as hell because they’re not meant to be. The only difference is WoW throws a bunch of random difficulties so everyone can be at a point to say it’s hard. Square doesn’t care.
In hindsight looking back at how it transpired. I mentioned WoW dungeons were still linear and you demanded I “go play Shadowbringers dungeons more” in a dismissive manner. So being childish in this began with you. So I’m taking back the apology because you don’t deserve it.
It’s far from the norm in FFXIV to be toxic.
No, sorry but insulting your inability to form a coherent argument or what you think is a response in a poor manner is not a personal attack. It’s not like I called you stupid, I made fun of the garbage way you formulate responses. Something evident. Now if you want to read more into that than I intended go right ahead but that’s more about you than me.
Lose? Lmao. You’re giving dumb non arguments and trying to scream “FFXIV TOXIC I SAW TOXICITY ONCE THEREFORE EQUAL TO WOW!” In what realm does 5 = 1? Answer me that.
No because people there are genuinely old enough to know how to formulate responses so you get a more reasoned discussion. We don’t have people like you over there spouting nonsense, nitpicking arguments, talking about random crap, etc.
good luck. see you in a couple of months when you get bored of the long msq, one button rotation for 50 levels, and waiting for roulettes
I’m sorry but I’m just not taking the bait.
If you want to be honest and not try to make a bunch of jokes, I will be more than happy to have a discussion with you.
How would one take something that doesn’t exist. Is this more of your 5=1 fantasy realm logic? Do we mine for fish?
You’ve proven unequal to that task so I don’t think that’ll go over well.
The main quest wasn’t so much long as it was just a bunch of reading that bored me to where I nodded off.
Don’t feed the trolls. They’re out thick today.
Brute Justice is a perfect example of “Well, this might be a bit silly- but it’ll be so much fun and we grew up watching mechas so… Let’s put it in with the most bangin sound track ever.”
Enjoy your stay until WoW gets their stuff together. It’s not like players are truly abandoning it, but they have every right to leave it due to what’s been given and said about the product.
isn’t the “great” story part of how “excellent” ff14 is? i also nodded off the story to be honest, before the changes it took me a good 2-3 months for all the msq
Best of luck. I hope you like it.
It’s a little tricky. Some final fantasy games had great stories but when the story gets so bloated, it just gets boring. The single player console games had a lot of voice acting which kept some awake and paying attention. There is some but don’t it into an interactive novel.
So, I grew up not having money for video games EXCEPT during the summers because I could mow people’s lawns to get cash and stuff.
Due to this constraint, I grew up playing ROMs. So, to me, reading 400 pages of text boxes is like getting back to my childhood of playing FF1-6, BoF1-2, Lufia 1-2, DW/DQ1-6, Chronotrigger, etc.
You and I grew up doin the same thing!
Don’t me wrong, I do not mind reading. I’ve played a crap ton of RPGs where there was no cutscenes or voice acting but do it in moderation. Tell me some things then let me play. Too much reading in 1 single spot gets boring fast, especially when you turn around a few minutes later and there is even more. Those SNES RPGs had reading but it was not so bloated. I could play a lot of “game” before I had to do more reading.
