They don’t need to increase the price, just make content that pleases the whales and lazy-casuals who pay2win their way through the game….
However to answer the question directly, I’d gladly pay a higher sub, IF and ONLY IF… they put ‘standards’ and ‘quality’ back into the game design…. put the WAR back in WARCRAFT again.
No more “Fruit Bowls”, and patching up years of interspecies conflicts with the power of estrogen… no more “Purple People Eaters”… no more rehashed content…. no more borrowed power gimmicks… bring back Skyriding races.
… quality has to match the price.

Everyone wants more money, but you don’t get more product, in fact you normally get less thanks to shrinkflation, but it’s getting ridiculous.
All these multi-billion dollar companies holding their hands out for more money.
It’s sickening tbh.
How many billions in profit is enough?
The answer is, it’s never enough and we have to pay for that.

What the hell motivates someone to come on the forums and even ask if the price should go up?
What is going through people’s minds that these threads keep getting posted?
I am convinced at this point that every single person who posts a “should the price go up?” thread is a bot running at a server at Blizz.

If they doubled the subscription cost but dropped the cash shop entirely- including WoW tokens- excluding the account services (realm transfers, name changes, race changes, not the max level characters) I’d pay it.
Actually hosting servers was never horribly expensive. Bandwidth is what costs money. Without being able to look at a spreadsheet Blizzard probably pays (or at least paid? I imagine Microsoft wants to in-house Blizzard’s server infrastructure away from AWS) hundreds of millions of dollars to manage WoW’s servers.
And that’s just maintenance. Not administration, not development. WoW’s dev team has never been bigger.
Why would you even ask this crap? It makes it seem like the player-base is ok with an increase when we are not. Y’all have got to stop with these posts.
So, 0 benefit to you, probably 1.85x the income for them. Why?
And dont even come with “more money = better quality” because we ALL know that wouldn’t happen.

I’d go for a decrease of my $12.99/month subscription. Annual could be $10.99.
No increase though. I would rather they sell stuff on the cash shop over increasing everyone’s subscription.

I think the people who actually know the game’s financials are the only ones equipped to answer this or have this conversation.
Of course it should be reduced. It’ an ancient game. Most games this old are already F2P.
However, I would have no problem the current price if they actually maintained the game as it should be. Not this,“Here’s a broken release. We’ll eventully fix it later…(Or not, depending on how we feel.)”
$14.99, not 15. Not a big difference you may say, but being 15 instead of 14.99 would have given them ~ $10,320,000 more over this time period.
And that $10,320,000 could have afforded them actual flesh/blood humans to be GMs or moderate the forums!

We used to have active forum mods here. But some of them would argue with us the same way we sometimes argue with each other. Blues used to be all over these forums back in the day.

The challenge with access-based subscription licensing is consumers have a (generally low) top dollar amount they’re willing to pay, especially when most equivalent competition has chosen microtransactions. Price it too high (ex Brazil pricing) and players leave in droves.
Greater costs will not improve the game. Most tech companies are reporting record profits and still laying employees off. The money is not going into reinvestment in human-created systems. Rather, it’s going into training/identifying/expanding AI use cases.
Microtransactions scale more, particularly in an economy where consumers are scaling back. They’re less predictable, but tend to be larger when made (ex: bruto was a resounding success and housing looks to be the next large RMT focus).

Lower the subscription price, but sell horse armor.
That’s only a tenth of a brutosaur
Make the barber mount a tyrannosaur.
