It all adds up to play like F2P game. Have a +1.
Oh. Got it.
There’s no Disadvantage if you don’t have disposable income to buy gold to buy a run for high-end gear. Just having a high ilvl doesn’t automatically make you a player worth inviting to raids and such.
You can put a piggy in a pretty dress but it’ll still be a piggy.
Because that is all the MTXs will do for you. Pretty piggy riding a pretty mount. (that’s me)
What if I told you everything on the cash shop is optional?
That would piss off certain gold farmers lol.
The obvious lack of testing, many many bugs, undocumented changes slipping on through, and the kul tiran mage/zandalari warlock fiasco says hi. Communication as a whole has either been severely lacking, or just not there. So yes, QA is seemingly not there.
There gonna try to copy FTP aspects but not give a free play model. They want to add in the microtransactions but keep the subscription only as a way to milk the players for as much as they can. While the devs generate as little content as possible. Win for the devs, loose for the players/customers.

if BfA is telling of future expansions then WoW should go free to play given the amateur quality of development, the non-existent QA team, and the bad ideas - not because of some micro-transactions.
I could see a FTP model working with both a FTP and PTP option , of course the PTP option would have to have some bonuses .
If subs get to low they might have to make a FTP model. Who knows that could be announced at next blizzcon.
WHAT microtransactions?
you mean the stupid mounts you DONT have buy if you dont want to?
I have no problem having ADDITIONAL goodies I can buy with cash if I want as long as they DONT affect the game and arent something I HAVE to have to play.
Lets all cry in one singular voice
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Firstly, we can all quit playing today if we want.
Secondly, if the devs are dumb enough to not put out good content then it’ll be their own fault when the company goes under and theyre out of a job.
Thirdly, I just dont see that happening.
They put in the time to make the game work with multiple cores to whatever extent. My guess is they have long term plans for the game.
They know we’re not going to keep playing WoW if we have to buy crap to win the game.
IF they are that stupid and do it anyway…well we’ll all get to have some popcorn and laugh while the Acticrap ship goes under, now wont we?
Either way Im entertained.
Sad thing about it , the devs will jump ship to go ruin another company/game. =/
i mean it is kinda free to play if you farm stuff and make enough gold
Why? Would it make a difference? 10% or 50% or 90%… which would you be okay with?
It’s not sketchy to me. Apparently it is to you. It just doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what portion. It could be a buck or 20 bucks. I don’t care. If I buy the toys it will be because I think they look fun to play with, not because of what they do with the money.
Do you have some odd idea that a “portion” of the money you already spend with Blizz doesn’t get used for some program or another? How do you think they pay for ESports “purses” now?

Many of them have already left this sinking ship, can’t say I blame them.
I don’t care, I just think they should be upfront with people when they purchase these new toys.
Sorry I should have quoted it from some other source. It just dawned on me when I read your post.

Im arguing against those who are saying this has no bearing on the game because its all cosmetic.
It doesn’t have any bearing on the game. It is all cosmetic. In the realm of microtransactions (and I am of the opinion that the “one time, single purchases” are iffy as a “microtransaction” at best) the ones Blizzard sells are as straight forward as they come.
We are not paying for a chance to get something.
We are not paying for something we can “get faster” if we fork out cash.
We are not paying for some kind of character upgrade.
We are paying a set price for an item we obtain that does not in any way effect character power or progression until either the servers shut down or we decide to stop playing (or break a rule in such a way as to have our account banned permanently).
There is no trickery. It is completely straightforward. It does not unbalance anything in the game.
Nothing that has been added to the store gives any kind of impression that they are going to begin selling anything other than cosmetic or vanity items. Not a single thing.
Players were buying gold forever. Adding the Token made it so that players could do so without the risk of having their account hacked or banned. It also gave players with “tighter wallets” the ability to play using the gold they accumulated in game. To me it was a “win win” anyway you look at it.
Farming gold in game gives the same advantage as buying gold from the AH. Nothing sold in the store gives any advantage not available in the game.
You don’t care but you want to know the exact “portion”? I just don’t get it. I think they are being up front telling us at all. They can do whatever they like with proceeds from anything they sell. They are under no obligation to tell us what that is or why.
I said I think it’s sketchy to just say a “portion” and it is. I’m not stupid enough to buy anything extra from Blizz at the moment. They’re lucky they got this month.
It’s a sad attempt to make it seem like people are contributing to something and that they share a vested interest where there is little and believe me you can say

But I wonder how much of the game is actually balanced around e-sports.
So these toys are gonna have to be really impressive to sale. I wonder what they will be or do? I am hoping for a dragon costume aka alexstrazsa or ysera. I wonder the price on them are going to be?
