WoW should be F2P if they going to add more and more microtansactions

Right that’s now what this is though. You aren’t paying blizzard to win. You are paying other players. That’s why I don’t consider it a micro transaction. I know it’s a poorly defined term though so it’s easy to disagree.

You arent alone in that one. Youd have to have you head buried to think the game is thriving and subs are on the rise

Blizzard sells Tokens for gold. Gold buys gear. Whether or not somone was on the other end doesnt mean Blizzard has no hand in it

Not technically but blizzard don’t provide anything other than the pixels. If there were no players in the game you couldn’t buy gold for it from them. That is a huge difference in my eyes.

Correction, you are fed up.

This is Blizzard Entertainment’s decision, not Activision Blizzard’s, which, I’ll remind you, is a holding company and does not make decisions for Blizzard Entertainment.

I disagree. They have no significant hand in it imo. You could have just made the gold yourself and still bought the same run. Blizzard isn’t selling you gear.

You are assuming that everyone agrees with you. Everyone doesn’t.

Frankly, I don’t care. WoW doesn’t have “microtransactions” in the true sense of the word; it has one time purchases. If you don’t want “a portion” of your money to go to ESports, don’t buy the toys.

It will be 2 toys, one time purchases for anyone who buys them. It’s not like they are loading up the shop with a multitude of items that can be purchased multiple times over.

It’s 2 toys that can be purchased one time per account.

If this is your biggest issue with the game you could be worried about the way wrong thing.

I think if you have to rely on the middle man argument you don’t really have a argument. I don’t hold anything against people who enjoy micro transactions I have problems with the negative effects it has on the game.

Like i said, mental gymnastics to convince yourself of that

No, plenty of people are fed up. Many friends lists and guilds are dead. Wake up and smell the roses.

Secondly, Blizzard is actually called Activision Blizzard. They are now the one company, if you don’t believe me check the stock market. They are under their company name “Activision Blizzard”. If you’ve paid any attention over the past 6 months, you would know Activision are cost cutting at Blizzard by injecting their own people as CFOs into the company. Activision make the calls now, Blizzard these days is just a shell.

that’s what a microtransaction is… a one time purchase…

I see. I disagree with that as well Then! I think the middle man is more important than anything else, because they are in the middle for a reason. Basically by definition means they aren’t doing what people are claiming they are doing.

But I see this is just turning into an argument about words and not the game. Not interested in that any further.

See you in the next one!

Agree to disagree. I would say you are the one using mental gymnastics to convince yourself that blizzard is selling you anything specific.
Don’t care to debate the meaning of these things.

Thanks for the chat!

Scurry off

Fact is that i can now use my wallet to win. Like any phone game i can pay my way instead of working for it. Thats paying to win

We are SO ‘paying to win’; 60$ for the expac and 15$/month. This allows us access to whatever parts of the game our ingame efforts take us to.
THAT is ‘pat to win’.
Flips hair and oh SNAP!

Doesn’t that sound a bit sketchy though? I think they should disclose this “portion”

So, you are fed up, and you’re falsly equating your empty friends list and dead guild to the existence of microtransactions. Might I suggest finding new friends and getting a better guild instead of moaning about how your social contacts aren’t around anymore?

No, they’re not. Blizzard Entertainment is a developer/publisher that is owned by Activision-Blizzard, which is a different company. Despite the relation, neither Blizzard Entertainment nor Activision-Blizzard passes orders from one to the other, as multiple Blizzard staff have stated over the years, including yet another confirmation as early as this month.

For someone who demands that I should ‘pay attention’ you seem to have trouble doing that yourself, or you wouldn’t be blinding believing what people on YouTube tell you.

Educated guess: 1% to Esports, 99% to executive pockets.

Step 1: Buy WoW Token.
Step 2: Buy gear off AH

And if you really want to get nasty with it;

Step 3: Buy Runs sold in the Group finder

Come on they are not monsters… I can see a solid 5% for the first three weeks.

I am not fed up with it. No one is twisting your arm to buy anything from the shop. Your gameplay is not being hindered.
