WoW sent me to a fake blizzard site after downloading Overwolf

I would link you the ads I got using the application l, but I would be banned for posting nudity.

They are scumbags and here from there Twitter

  1. Well no ads are running currently. Later this year when ads will be enabled we’ll also offer a subscription option to remove ads. Ads allow a sustainable way to support authors, which goes a long way in helping them invest more time and effort in their creations

Can Blizzard send them a cease and desist order? That’s absurd.

Its a loophole. Since the money is made through adsense and not the amount of downloads/paying for the add on they aren’t technically making money for the add on.

I don’t remember Overwolf having anything to do with WoW mods during that time frame. I know for a fact Curse had their own launcher and then later moved to Twitch around Legion. But I guess this means you don’t use WoWhead either right? After all they have had their issues with bad actors in their ad feed as well.

No you don’t. Curse and Overwolf have already stated several times that the Cursed Forge web site will remain upon for people to manually use.

Yes you do.

“You don’t need to go and launch Overwolf, you can just launch the app from it’s desktop icon or windows (Overwolf will be loaded in the background, since it is the engine for the app, kind of like how Steam launches when you launch PUBG) .”

  • Uri Marchand Overwolf CEO.

Just because you don’t know its opening, doesn’t mean it isn’t, and manually downloading it has nothing to do with using the app.

I feel like that’s definitely the thing that should be tried in court. Monetization of someone else’s IP is still monetization of someone else’s IP. I find a hard time believing the court will side with Overwolf on a technicality.

" So is CurseForge going away?
Definitely not. CurseForge will remain a standalone brand, within the Overwolf family of apps. The Curseforge.com website will stay exactly the same, and the mod manager will leave the Twitch client and become a dedicated CurseForge app for PC and Mac."

Learn the difference between a web page and an application. What they did was create a Cursed Forge application for WoW but that doesn’t replace the Cursed Forge web site.

Found the Overwolf dev.

This isn’t what you said. You said the app, is no different than the twitch app. It is different. No one mentioned manual downloads until you got caught in your own bs.

Probably has the Ring doorbell system. lol

Yep your right off there Twitter

The Overwolf framework is the engine that lets the CurseForge app stay small and nimble. It handles updates, patching, analytics, ad placement, identifying the games, finding and working with the addons folder and more.

This is what you said. Where does it say website here? It specifically says TWITCH APP. You were referring to the curse forge app that includes overwolf in the download.

Quit lying.

My second post pointed out that you can manually download the addons’ from the Cursed Forge web site… My first post was only pointing out I have had no issues with the Cursed Forge application myself.

Yep. You 100% need overwolf + the app for it to function. This guy is legit trying to weasel out of what he said by saying he meant the website when it’s blatantly clear he didn’t.

I don’t give a care about your second post. I replied to your first post, where you lied and said it functions the same as the twitch launcher, when it does not.

The twitch app does not need a second application to run in the background, the CURSEFORGE APP does. They are not the same.

I may have gotten a different screen, but I got an update to the eula when I logged on this morning.
With that said, if what google and all these people say is true, you can’t get rid of it fast enough. i hate companies that do that…cough mcafee and norton cough

You don’t. You can literally open Overwolf, update your addons, and then close Overwolf.

You open curse forge, which opens overwolf in the background. When you close curseforge it does not close overwolf, you have to manually close it.

My first post never even used the words “twitch” or “manual update”, so I don’t know what the hell are you talking about. And I have been running the Cursed Forge app for almost two weeks and I close it all the time. Matter of fact the first time I closed it, it asked me if I wanted to fully exit or to let it run in the background. The second you close it the Overwolf app is closed as well, it is their ad streaming service.
