WoW sent me to a fake blizzard site after downloading Overwolf

This was the message we saw about the privacy policy, which was why we mentioned it.

Eat a Snickers and chill out.

No, what’s interesting is that you didn’t take the time to read and instead jumped to conclusions to create drama over a Blizzard EULA change.

I’ve just never seen that message before so it was very concerning that it only came up after i downloaded the program

But the EULA or w/e was updated …

No one has in a while. Because they rarely update the EULA. Next time ask before you spread misinformation and start people screaming with torches and pitchforks for no reason.

Which ive never seen coem up on their client before so yes i will happily reserve the right to have my info be secure tyvm

I have been using it with no issues.
I do not like that it is force-packaged with this stupid client I have no interest in having, but I can’t stand Twitch as a company so I am happy to be done with them.

Not sure what happened there, but that has nothing to do with WoW. It was probably just something you clicked on with that client.

WoW almost NEVER prompts you to open URLs outside the game.

You seriously need to learn to read and ask questions and do some research. Do you even realize the crap you just caused on this forum over your freak out? Seriously?

Change your title and your post information. We don’t need this crap spread across the community when it’s all just you making stuff up.

Wanting people to be aware of potential risks seems reason enough, mate.

There was a legit update to the terms today on Launcher start. I clicked agree and that was it. I have NEVER had any addon manager ever.

It has nothing to do with Overwolf.

EDIT - anything that takes you outside the game or Blizz websites is not Blizzard. It is malware.

Thank you for giving us a reply. <3

potential risks, made up risks, what’s the difference

You’re missing a couple important parts…

  1. Its happening to people that don’t use overwolf
  2. If you look at your history you can see the link.
  3. if you sign in you end up at your account security page so if it’s a phishing site it’s well done.

THERE WAS NO RISK.

You didn’t read, you made crap up, you started fearmongering on this forum and all because you refused to research first and blamed something as simple as an EULA update by Blizzard.

And it took me outside the game…

You seem upset lad.

Yes it did. If you’re really spooked change your pword.

When you spread false information around so people can latch onto it and scream about it later as if it were true… I sure do get annoyed at people who can’t read and research first.

Don’t need to change my password if I have an authenticator.

No you don’t. So you can probably relax?
