Are you sure the two are connected? I had the updated EULA pop up as well but it didn’t navigate me anywhere. I just agreed and the launcher opened.
Same got this morning time…no overwolf here either. I use WowUp
Or this isn’t Heartstone and we don’t have any overlays for “helper” apps here. Right now it does exactly the samething as the current Twitch updater, with the exception of having a small ads frame that isn’t even act during the beta.
See you just assume your negative experience with them “back in the day” means nothing has changed. By that logic I assume you don’t use WoWhead, because they had more then a few run ins with malware from their site “back in the day”.
So I got the same popup despite not having Overwolf installed. I believe that every person had this happen so as to show you Blizzards new EULA.
There are some alternatives for Overwolf that you may like. But please don’t spread false information like this as it makes good information look weaker when/if it does come out.
The lack of 100% proof other than “Google said” is ridiculous in this thread.
When I downloaded overwolf it signed me up for a vasectomy.
Would not recommend. Still cant do heavy activity yet.
That is horrible, how can they even think of depriving the world of little “Akstons” running around out there!
TBH its probably for the better.
That was blizzard’s EULA update.

There’s an option for that.
God I miss her.
The official response is “No”. But the fact that its a discussion at all is already sketchy. Addons aren’t paid content. They need to sod off.
I installed the new Overwolf forge client, and I have had no problems with it. I actually like it a lot more than the Twitch version.
Quite some years ago, everyone in my gaming group downloaded and tried Overwolf. We had been on Xfire previously. We ran into issues with Overwolf concerning lag, it installing extra programs, and the a general dislike of the interface. We left pretty quick and I had the thought back then that I would never go back to Overwolf. I dont intend to now so its time for me and a crash course in manually installing addons!
The client itself will do what its supposed to do. People don’t think it’ll fail to manage your addons. It’s the sketchy nature of not allowing you to close it properly, running 2 programs in the background to manage your addons when only 1 is necessary (not like running in the background is necessary at all - but Twitch did this too if you didn’t go out of your way to close it), and a poor history with the company doing it making people not trust them.
All that can be turned off in the settings. I close it out completely with one X, no problems. If anything, Discord is the program that never lets me close it out.
Right click the button in your little running apps box down near the clock, exit discord.
I can’t while WoW is open for some reason. Right clicking on it just does nothing. I have to close out of WoW to close Discord (or open task manager). But for people saying it’s sketchy that Overwolf stays open, at least there is a setting to stop that. Discord doesn’t give you that option, but nobody has a problem with them.
Honestly, people only have a problem with Overwolf because of the few people who have started threads accusing them of being some horrible villains.
That’s weird that you can’t while wow is running.
I leave discord open all the time, and it’s on my phone. So idk.
I dislike overwolf because it makes you dl a second application just so the first works. They have a reputation. I remember their overlay being incredibly invasive.
I don’t mind ads unless:
They move
They make noise
They pop up
Ads that do that make me not use the product rather than pay to get rid of them. And I don’t trust them to install on my pc much less with my bank info.
