Tbh at this point wow could probably go buy 2 play with how there cash shop is setup now.
Free to play just means it’s going to be filled with a million microtransactions

No. I’d take more options for paying and perhaps a price break. However whatever the argument people make for it to go F2P I just like the one fact that can’t be disputed – making a game have a sub fee at the very least keeps some unsavory people from playing the game.
If it was free the flood gates would open and loads more players would come in and likely a high % would be jerks (for lack of better wording and to pass the forum rules) …
Also – trust me I’ve had many occasions where I was frustrated to all end with this game and blizzard, many times over the years.
But in the end my philosophy in life on fair compensation for honest work holds – I’m ok financially supporting a project I engage in for my entertainment. And when I’m not I cancel my sub and just don’t pay during that time period.
Then when the game is interesting to me again – I re sub. So I pay when I enjoy playing it, don’t when I’m not enjoying it. Simple math really.
Everyone has bills to pay and food to put on the table – if I appreciate their work I’ll gladly pay them for it.
If they’re going to keep up this timegating, yeah it should go F2P.

Based on what we’ve received lately, WoW isn’t good enough to charge a box price and a subscription. Lower the box price if Blizz insists on maintaining a sub model.
No, things are bad enough without the F2P riff raff joining in.

wow already beat lost ark. it has me and lost ark dont. blizzard can raise the sub price to $50 per month and i will still actively play on all 6 of my accounts. i am not a gamer. i am a wow player. wow is all i play. if wow dies and deletes i will move on to another non game hobby.
Lost Ark, I just don’t like the isometric Diablo-esque camera.
Otherwise it would’ve been an alright game for me.
Definitely a worthy successor to Diablo, lol.
If it wasn’t free, I would not have tried it out. Also, there’s a huge bot problem, like a third of the accounts are bots I have heard.
The very big problem with Lost ark are the bots.
The servers are disgustingly overflooded with them.
I like lost Ark myself but to have that many bots and do nothing about it is unacceptable.
Until they get it at least under control I won’t be playing it.
That will make WoW even more of a micro store game which is bad. I like the outfits and mounts and the WoW tokens do come in handy but it’s fun and challenging to work for transmogs, mounts, achievements and gold. If anything players should be allowed to change their toon’s faction, gender, class and appearance for free.
I can promise you that if WoW goes to F2P, You will start to see more bots and boosters than you ever seen in the past.

You clearly haven’t spent any time in LA.
A) Lost Ark is P2W, not F2P.
B) Over half of that is bots.
I have never personally played a f2p game that doesn’t become p2w very quickly.
And while it could be argued that WoW is already pay to win, I do not agree. In WoW, the only pay to win situation is where you pay real money to then pay other players fake money in order to complete content that you don’t feel like putting the time in to achieve on your own. Then you still have to complete the content, even though you’re doing it at a faster rate than if you didn’t pay someone to help you.
Real pay to win, is where you give the GAME money in order to make yourself immediately stronger with a click of a button and a drain on your bank account. Like, here’s a weapon that you could work a month for, but you can have it for $20.
Going F2P means they would want to generate similar revenue that they have now, and the only way to do that would be to increase things available to buy, and it wouldn’t take long before those things included necessary player power progression.
edit: another example in wow would be ‘get 3 more great vault options for 10 bucks.’ No thanks.
