WoW Needs a new class

Yes, if you don’t know the origin is

There’s even a text converter so you don’t have to do it yourself

The implication of the meme is that you sound stupid when you say whatever it is that the OP of the post has quoted. So that is their point.

My first blue post response thanks for ‘the assurance’ xx

Have we seen him in SL? I’ve missed a lot in the story, I’m sure, I don’t play like I used to. Has he popped up at all? Off topic, sorry.

I always say I want blood effect on resto shaman. its like perfect wter is blood. And it would be so cool for Blood troll shaman RP. Just turn the blue effect blood/red and tada its done

That’s like claiming all of the healer classes cannibalize Alchemy because they can heal and buff also.

My question is, how are the classes designed badly currently? And how are they broken or unbalanced for anyone who wants to use the " Blizzard needs to balance the current classes we already have first" argument?

If anything, shadowlands has probably had the best class balance in a long time for this game in retail. We just need some abilities to come back. Volley and hurricane for hunters and druids, i am looking at you. The original volley of course. The one that fires icy arrows from the sky as a channeled spell. Blizz honestly over pruned and deleted way to much stuff from the game over the years. Even if it was fluff, it was part of what has made recent entries so frustrating. Not having the iconic abilities tied to my class just gone, made the classes so much less fun.

Chromie time and 60 levels means that blizzard can design the entire game around 60 lvls instead of like 200 or whatever the number would have been. Inflation of all these systems and talent points, and skills, and lvls, etc. Has been a big deal for years now. While people hate scaling, it makes sense at lower lvls. The last 10 levels are the only ones that seem to matter, and this is where the scaling should stop. That and the random proc chance on extra stats makes no sense either.

I only want 2 things from retail wow currently. Balance will never be complete. Ever. It will always be almost there. But in terms of class balance and overall class design, shadowlands hit a home run for me. But i want a new class. And i want the old classic wow 1-60 overworld and dungeons to be added back for chromie time as an option for those who prefer the old overworld for leveling up. I mean, we have classic wow, but i don’t care about classic wow. At the end of the day, wrath of the lich king classic might be the middle ground for me, but at the end of the day, more options can only help the retail game. Never will forget when cataclysm came out and one of my favorite options for leveling, the old overworld, was deleted. Only reason i played classic was for that reason. And classic wrath had the perfect level design.

All the abilities. All the ammos. All the poisons. Everything. It just added so much dynamic, and all the classes made sense back then to. When it comes to retail, which i still enjoy, i would choose the original barrens for lvling on my pandaren monk if i could. I honestly would absolutely choose this.

Above all the things that annoy me about retail wow, homogenization of all the classes being one of the big ones. All you do now is spam the everlasting balogna out of your abilities without fear of ever worrying about mana or anything else, unless you are a healer. Homogenization just makes each class feel less unique compared to the others. It just feels like whenever blizzard alters things a bit, i generally am ok. But deleting stuff, unless it is like black quiraji battle tank exclusive, can blizz please just stop doing that. Adding a new class would add fresh blood to the game and give new move sets and playstyles to try out. On top of churning through your way to the next max lvl. Choice is a huge deal. And being able to choose classic wow 1-60 overworld and dungeons and shiz would be an amazing choice to have in retail. And having a new class to try out would be even better.

Other than all that, world of warcraft is world of warcraft. Same old stuff over and over, and over again. We do the same crud each and every expansion. I just want new playstyles of a new class to try out on my way there. And even if i don’t get this, oh well. Still gonna play. Just sayin though blizzard. The classic wow overworld is what made world of warcraft what it was for all those years. And every expansion that has been made to the game, that has been successful more or less, has had a new race or a new class added. Exception being BFA. Seems like everyone hated BFA.

I think pandaria did well, but it was just player bias and skepticism that held it back. Alot of people pointed to kung fu panda and junk. But i know and most other people know alot of the concepts for monks and pandarens were ripped from warcraft 3 and vanilla wow with chens empty keg. Not gonna deny the chinese influence though. There is chinese influence all over pandaria. But i am certain i can find archives of pandaria that predate kung fu panda or any of the other things people claim it rips off. While it is somewhat of an easter egg, i never cared. Some times, easter eggs are the best types of content. I mean, are people really telling me they hated fists of furying everything and throwing beer kegs at people was a horrible thing? The monk class was amazing man.

I mean, we are getting the ability to matchmake and group with the opposite faction now in pvp and dungeons now in 9.2. Never thought that would happen. Never thought we would get the blackened defias set back or the scarlet mail set for hunters/shamans. But we did. Might as well go full circle and add most of the old classic wow overworld back at this point to. Killing an entire keep full of ravaging worgens and a crazed psycho mage on my monk is my life dream at this point. Blizzard needs to go back and realize what it was that made wow so special so long ago. Having more options will always help the game going forward. Having more classes and characters also help out alot to.

The problem with Bard is they are not really part of Warcraft lore. So they are pretty much out.

The problem with Necromancer is they are very similar to DKs, and will run into the reverse problem that DH did. There isn’t a lot of space for separate “undead mage” specs with the undead melee already there. Add to this we already have a “summoning mage” with demonology.

Tinker is the obvious option. Tinker you can stay within lore, have a new tank class, have a new healer class (similar to WC3 goblin alchemist hero) and the first new ranged option since the game launched.

He was slayed by a juiced up night elf. Rumor has it that he might meet Sylv in the Shadowlands.

Nah, how about the focus on the ones we have and do things like giving us a new talent row each expansion instead of system craft.

Frankly, I think the game is going to be in a bad situation if a new class isn’t introduced next expansion. We need a new, permanent addition to the game.

The necromancer class isn’t even in game, how can you claim that? We have tons of new knowledge about death in wow because of Shadowlands. Fleshcrafting, Sin, and Domination could be the three specs. NONE of that says DK to me.

I’d be ok with a new class, but none of the three you mentioned. Yuck!

http://classic.battle.net/war3/undead/units/necromancer.shtml

All classes have their origins in previous iterations of Warcraft. Necromancer would not be an exception.

I’d rather see new and interesting abilities go to the existing classes. There’s hardly any class identity in retail.

Agreed.

Maybe a Shadow Hunter kind of class, with ~mail~ so we get another mail class be quiet everyone, that will help in the fight against the Void. Like, I dunno, maybe the Loa tell the Darkspears, “Hey, teach the other guys the Shadow Hunter thing, the more we have against the Void the better.”. They could be Ranged DPS/Melee DPS/Healing, I guess.

Because they already have enough abilities.

WTF are you talking about? The Cult of the Damned was all necromancers, and their leader, Kel’thuzad was a major hero.

The game really does not need any more classes right now. Necromancer is a death themed class is already in the game with DK. I don’t care about necromancer npcs, they are just dks with cloth and shadowbolt.

Tinkerers are kinda cool but I’d rather they just expand crafting professions to affect how some classes or specs play.

Perhaps integrating race identity into classes would be cool too. Giving mechanical-themed cosmetic affects or abilities to gnomes and goblins or bwonsamdi/loa-themed affects to Darkspear and Zandalari trolls could give the current races more distinct in action.

Also, basically ALL of the covenant abilities. DKs are infused with the power of the Lich King who was an agent of the Jailer (intentional or not).

Necromancers aren’t limited to that. They can have powers from every covenant. DKs cannot.

I want a necromancer just because nothing fills that niche. I want a caster with a lot of skeleton buddies. A DK isn’t that, and a Warlock isn’t that. I don’t want to play a class that doesn’t satisfy.
