WoW Needs a new class

DK isn’t a necromancer any more than an engineer is a Tinkerer.

We need both.

And why the hate for Bard? It’d be a fun class.

Blizz should add all three down the line.

DK is a class that raises and controls the dead.

That’s what Necromancers do. You might not agree with the range at which they do it, but that doesn’t change the fact that DK is a necromancer.

Engineering isn’t a class, so that’s a nonsensical comparison.

A Death Knight isn’t a necromancer.

They use necromancy.

But that’s not the class fantasy that people want.

If you’re OK with dk being necromancer for those who want it then you’re fine with engineering being your Tinkerer.

There’s room for both.

Campaign for the one you want but don’t put down others who have just as much right to ask for the class they want.

Please describe the class fantasy that these “people” want. I can assure you it’s all handled within either the DK class or the Warlock class.

And again, Necromancer proponents can choose a heavily armored battle mage that can spread diseases and raise dead minions, or they can choose an evil spell caster who spreads afflictions and curses, manipulates souls, and controls vile demonic minions. Tinker proponents have no such options.

We’ve explained this to you 10000 times, it’s like speaking to a brick wall. We get it, you want Tinkers are more glorified Hunter class that takes from other classes too…

Tank mode in a mech suit, so basically like Guardian Druids who use Bear Form to tank, just a different skin ones a bear ones a mech… and further take away from professions, poor engineering, Turrets? So just ranged Hunter traps or totems I.e liquid magma totem or even old school searing totem with a different skin, so unique.

Why not just accept theirs room for all classes requested in the future then choose to die on this hill.

Listen I’m all for Tinkers, but to say they are different and nothing we’ve had is just a flat out lie.

This is the type of bad comparison I’m talking about. There are zero Tinker abilities in the Hunter class. On the other hand, we had the Necromancer unit in WC3. It’s abilities were Raise Dead, Unholy Frenzy, and Cripple. 2 of those abilities went to Death Knights, 1 went to Warlocks. Then we had the Lich, which is a transformed Necromancer. Death Knights got it’s ultimate ability Death and Decay, and the ability to turn into a Lich (Lichborne), and Mages got their frost abilities.

So I’m asking again, what is the gameplay we’re pining for here? Are you looking for a dark spellcaster that manipulates life energies, spreads curses, and controls vile minions? Warlock is your class. Demonology is exactly how a classic Necromancer plays. Even the spells are similar, because they’re based on life and soul manipulation. The ONLY difference is that you’re summoning vile demons instead of the undead. If that’s a deal breaker for you, roll a Death Knight and summon the undead instead.

However, to pretend that we have space between those classes for ANOTHER dark spell caster that summons vile minions is ridiculous. At the very least, the Death Knight is the necromancer class of WoW. Warlocks contains the classic Necromancer playstyle, but DKs possess the theme.

Yeah, the only problem is that players can’t be Druids and Hunters at the same time, and a Bear is no stand-in for a mech. Meanwhile, we’re supposed to believe that a player isn’t getting their Necormancer fix simply because their minion is an imp instead of a skeletal mage…

Which DKs can summon btw.

Except there isn’t room for a Necromancer class. That should have been crystal clear in Shadowlands when Blizzard gave every class Necromancer abilities and expanded Necromancy in the DK class.

In the end, you’re essentially arguing that a DK isn’t a necromancer because it fights in melee instead of range. It’s like saying that an Enhancement Shaman is completely different from an Elemental Shaman using the exact same reasoning. It’s simply a very bad argument.

Hunter and Tinker couldn’t be more thematically different from eachother.

One uses Nature and Animals for heaven’s sake.

Yes, I missed that part of Pep’s quote. No, the Tinker does not take from any classes. It’s WC3 and HotS abilities have never appeared in WoW’s class lineup.

Ok which Shadowlands Necromancers, that the community been asking for have the same skills?, I’ve literally given you lists and lists of all the skills everyone of them literally unique, name, visuals and all… yet you choose to ignore it.

Gone through each NPC, friend and foe and listed all the skills, yet you keep saying they are the same.

I guess it is true, ignorance is bliss. :man_facepalming:t4:

My argument comes in with how they’ll solve the Legion thing for a new class. Blizzard kinda painted themselves into a corner there.

Yeah, add a new class or 2. Game won’t get balanced anyway, so give us some new playstyle fun. FYI, game has never been balanced, no matter how close they’ve gotten at times, so that is never an excuse for not adding new things.

Unless they go the DK/DH route, and start you off further along the story.

More silliness. So now the “community” wants a “Shadowlands” Necromancer? What’s the difference between a standard Necromancer and a Shadowlands Necromancer?

You keep coming up with these ridiculous distinctions that don’t really exist. Once again, the difference between a DK and a classic Necromancer is the same difference as an enhancement and an elemental shaman. Are the Shaman specs really two different classes?

I don’t really have much to add to the Neco class request but the point that you make is exactly why I would personally like a Warlock questline (for Demo) that does a full reskin of my abilities and Demon pets. Kind of like Green Fel Fire for Destro.

(Not really sure how to do that in a way that wouldn’t take away from DK)

We want Actual Necromancers. Not death knights.

They’re all over the place and have been for a long time. They’re even in wc3.

A Death Knight and a Necromancer are two different things.

It’s not about if there is a class that raises the dead. It’s that there isn’t a Necromancer.

And really why balk at someone else’s class request?

Just request for yours and leave the others out of it.

Like really… If you think Death Knight and Warlock are the deal, then you are gonna be fine with engineering.

That’s my point.

I want Tinkerer and Necromancer and Bard and Warden.

And I’m not about to tell someone that wants Dragonsworn they’re wrong…

That’s ridiculous.

Keep it off of warlock, cause that’s not going to cut it, and make a necromancer class that uses Maldraxxus necromancy and just don’t take from other classes…

There isn’t any reason to do so.

Jeez.

You kind of just did that to me.

OK that’s fair. I lumped you into a lot cause I was annoyed at always having to defend myself for necromancer.

I apologize to you for that.

Just wish folk wouldn’t focus on the classes they don’t want and tell people why they can’t be and focus on their own damned interests. It’s so tiring to fight the same argument over and over.

Hey all good, you have my support for Necro. I would make one in a heartbeat!

I get it, I’ve been in this battle for some time.

Not related to the convo, just for laughs!
