WoW Lifetime subscription option

I think Blizzard should offer a lifetime subscription option and get it over with.

Like $500 = World of Warcraft Subscription for the life of the game.

Does anyone else agree?

Its a new record ladies and gentlemen it took 20min and less than 4 posts to get someone to throw a “Boost Bad” post into a thread!

It would be cheaper to pay $500 than to pay $15/month for 3 years, so I suspect it wouldn’t be unreasonable to say WoW Subscribers should opt for a $500 lifetime subscription if offered.

I mean it seems to make sense at this stage. It would be convenient for me. Pay and be done with it forever.

Maybe $500 is low, but it is a good starting number.

Its good, its awesome.

I’d pay $500 for a lifetime sub, mount or not. I’ve always ended up coming back to a blizzard game in some form or another, so couldn’t say it wouldn’t be worth it.

They wouldn’t do this… It would lose them money in the long run. Same people are probably the one’s still paying for the game. I could see them doing something for Classic though since it doesn’t bring new content once it’s all out

That would be a huge discount.

Ok so is $1000.00 still something you think players would bite on.

That is like 6 years worth of subscriptions.

I chose $500 because that comes out to be about 3 years of subscription costs.

or maybe $900.00, that is exactly 5 years of subscriptions. Is $900,00 a good price?

Eh $1k is stretching it. I doubt I’d pay more than $500. The point of buying lifetime is so the seller gets all that money up front, and you benefit from paying for something you may not ever end up using the day after.

I’d pay more than $1000 if it came with some genuinely impressive exclusives, like life time sub only servers with much more involved GM interaction.

Yeah that was why I went for the $500 number figured it was high enough to be plausible, but not so high that players would never even look at it.

It is not like Blizzard would ever do it. I am sure there have been others to have suggested it.

I dont even want to know what I’ve payed for a sub at this point.
500 and done sounds great.

I really do wish Blizzard would see this thread and take it seriously. Even if for a limited time, like offer it between now and TBC Launch.

This sounds like it should be a no brainer to me…but I don’t know if I’ll actually keep playing Classic after Wrath. I’m sure as hell am not going to pay for a sub to retail. Maybe I’d keep playing Classic or even try Classic plus (never thought I’d actually want that) but who knows. I don’t have enough trust to give them that much money at this point.

$500 is ridiculously low. It costs roughly $600 for 4 years if you pay in 6 month chunks.

If you had started playing WoW day 1 and kept a 6 month recurring subscription you would have spent ~$2,500 over 16 years.
~$2,700 if you paid 3 months at a time
~$2,900 if you paid monthly.
