So far literally everyone I have seen post here from Area 52 has been the cringiest things ever. MMO means “Massively Multiplayer Online” Not “You have to group up for everything.” Get over yourself, and your backwards thoughts. Grow up yourself and stop flaming people for enjoying what THEY enjoy in a game. Go froth at the mouth at something else.
Stop being cringe and go play a single player game i am not reading your freakin book
Um, proper usage is cringeworthy
Ahh yes. Do show us how lazy your trolling is by not reading. Again, grow up. And do enjoy being blocked.
great argument.
say a bunch of crap that makes no sense to try to justify making a multiplayer game single player → throw tantrum → OMG YOURE BLOCKED Q_Q
grow up dude stop being cringe
Thank you both.
The take that a game must orbit entirely around instanced group play in order to be considered an MMORPG has always been an odd one.
It completely ignores how most people playing the game in the first several years spent the majority of their /played outdoors and often solo, with bits of grouping with friends mixed in. Did that make the earlier expansions any less of an MMO than their newer counterparts? I don’t think so.
If anything the older versions of the game falls more cleanly into the category of “MMO” because its focus on lots of players sharing an outdoor environment made it massively multiplayer, regardless of what the individuals were doing. The newer games’ shift of emphasis away from the world to lobby-like cities and small-form instanced content makes it feel more like something like WCIII custom maps where you only temporarily share a small space with a handful of other players, rather than an MMO.
Careful. You might invoke their wrath by talking bad about Lobby of DungeonCraft.
Solo doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t do group content; they just don’t queue with other people that they know, they only use the RDF and LFR tools to do content.
The changes they’re making benefits people who prefer to not have to join random groups of sweats acting like running 5 seconds slower for a normal dungeon is going to be the end of the world for them.
huh? RDF and LFR are the epidemy of running with strangers. Or do you mean “they just don’t queue with other people that they DON’T know”
The venn diagram of people who say this and people who are enormous jerks to people in game is literally a circle.
They are quite literally the reason why people want to play this game solo and they have 0 self awareness about it.
Oh, I think deep down they suspect it, which is why they get up and arms about it. They have an irrational fear about being the reason why people don’t want to spend time with them.
Here’s the thing though: I AM an annoying person. I DO drive people away. Just - not everyone. And those that stick around - I treasure them like gold, because those are my true friends and they are special to me, even despite my … quirks.
WoW is a solo MMO. I have been playing solo for since MoP when most of my friends stopped playing.
You do have 39,628 Honorable Kills. You are grouping up for something and have done quite a few battlegrounds.
This character has been around since Vanilla, but solo queue non-rated BGs is still considered solo content by most of us.
But you are grouping with other people…
Hey thanks for proving a point I said earlier about how technically pvp can be done solo, even if it’s not the greatest way to do it.
i dont think any reasonable person would enjoy that though
I miss slower dungeons, I think plenty of reasonable people do. I have evidence of atleast 404 people that do.
That is not the “gotcha” you think it is.
